Reptile Heat Lamp Rotatable Turtle Heating Light with 50W UVA UVB Heat Bulb Simulated Sunlight Basking Spot Lamp with Clamp for Reptiles Lizard Amphibian Bearded Dragon Snake

We recently got salamanders and lizards, so I was doing alot of research on do and don'ts for these little guys. We have smaller plastic cages for them so I wanted something that didn't produce too much heat, but would be enough to keep the critters compfy.This clip on light came with a 50watt bulb and roughly a 6 foot cord with a flip switch to turn light on and off. The price point was amazing compared to other sets, which was the reason I purchased this one.The packaging was secure. Pieces were wrapped, ensuring nothing moved or got broken in transit. The bulb came in a boxwrapped with bubble wrap, also placed in the main package.The light unit is sturdy plastic and the clip holds tightly to the desk. It can spread and clamp onto something about 1.5-2, but will still grip down to half an inch. Take the light bulb out of the box and screw it into the light and the unit is ready to go! The bulb can be turned 360° around, and the top can be tilted about 60°. Great feature for finding the right spot to spread the heat.One warning...keep the heat lamp at least 6 inches from the cage. I wasn't anticipating the bulb producing heat so quickly, but i still learning. I would suggest making sure the lamp is at least 6 inches from the area you are trying to warm. I made the mistake of placing the unit about 3 inches away and ended up melting the top corner of the cage...thankfully I continued to check and was able to save it in time! Also, the light is like a warm white color you'd see in Christmas lights, but it's very bright! Do not place light facing you...it'll blind you temporarily.I reviewed 20, 30 and 50 watt bulbs, in addition to multiple light features. However, i ultimately believe this unit was the best bang for the buck, came with everything (which others came with light unit and bulb was purchased separately). The decision to go with the 50watt bulb has provided our salamanders and lizards with happy and warm terrariums.Would highly suggest!

It gives off a really nice warm vibe. I put it a little bit higher because she's tiny and I didn't want to cook her. The light isn't super bright which I love.

Be careful mine burnt out. It may have been isolated incident but please keep your eyes on it.It was perfect for what I needed and have purchased another in hopes this was a fluke accident.

When I got the product and first set it up and turned it on it seemed to work and I was watching my turtle because It had started moving towards the basking area where I had pointed the light. My turtle had just started to climb up when I looked over and seen what looked like smoke coming from the light and as I went to get closer the light cut off abruptly. Not sure if it was just the bulb or the base the bulb screws into but it no longer works and honestly even if it was just the bulb blown after seeing the smoke coming from the product I would be scared to use it again. Once it cooled down I did check to make sure I had screwed the bulb in correctly and it was put together as it should have been so in my opinion I got a defective product. I'm just glad it happened within the first five minutes of use and not after I had left the room.

Love this light. It's so convenient. Clips right on to the side of my tank and produces a good amount of heat. Claims to be 3% UVB but who knows. Either way, not enough for my baby tortoise. I make sure he gets natural sunshine every week
