Silvercrest Toughened Glass Stylish Electronic Digital Kitchen Weighing Measurement Scale, 5 Kgs, Black

I am now completely satisfied with the kitchen scale. Even though it is not China made, but I doubt about the longibity of this scale. The top of the scale is glass, so it makes the kitchen scale extremely fragile & unnecessary weighty. The swtiches are in akward position to operate. The design definitely needs improvement. When you want to turn the scale off, your fingers will touch the top glass & immediately you will see the numbers jumping. I feel in long run this is not good for the sensors and the aluminium bar inside the scale resposible for the weighing. The top glass should not have been extended beyond the LCD display & avoid the unecessary sensing of the fingers when power button is pressed.I am not sure how accurate is the weight. First of all, it needs a solid flat base to operate, else the device will complain & be unstable. Okay, on power ON, it shows "zero". But, I tried to measure a rice puff (muri) packed marked 250g, the scale read 247g. Then I weight a 50g Oreo biscuit, it read 53g! I do not know whether the device is having the margin of error or the packets did have incorrect measurements than the mentioned weights. I know, I am not going to weigh & sell "gold" with this device! But, still it feels good to have a correct display. I am not waiting how long this device will last. My previous 2 scales were SF-400, 1st one lasted for 6 months, the 2nd scale lasted only 1 week & then kaput! So, I invested in a little better scale. If this one fails quickly too, then I will go and buy a mechanical scale with tiny weights!Pros:-------1. Not made in China2. Built is good3. Weighs more or less correct4. Bright & Clear display5. Lot of measuring options6. Looks better than those China made kitchen scale.Cons:-------1. Bad button placements, while turning OFF you need to put press the button carefully, else you may touch the glass & initiate reading2. Operating with the button is not easy as display continues to jump during operation.3. Glass top makes the device little fragile4. Digit keeps on jumping up/down by 1g after weight is read5. No regrets with the purchase.========= Update on Apr 05, 2019 ===========I must say, my initial guess was wrong. The scale is performing excellent. Till now, it is working absolutely perfect :). My wife use it almost daily. It was a very good decision to purchase this kitchen scale. A BIG THUMBS UP, highly recommended.

The product has a glass top which makes it look sleek. The product is packed well ,the machine lies in a an egg crate within the primary box thus the product is secure and probably won't be damaged in transit.keep it on a HARD FLAT SURFACE WHILE WEIGHING else you get weird readings. The "mode" & "zero" switches are wobbly. The machine is small as expected from a kitchen scale. It comes with 2 AAA batteries. I use it regularly..Definitely not a super computer but gets the job done... Decent product.

Just unboxed the product, and did a little testing.1. First off, This has very, very good build quality. I'm certain you won't get this build quality for this price, at least from what I've seen at Amazon. Also comes with a detailed instruction booklet with instructions in many languages.2. Weighed my ring multiple times. Gives consistent results so far.I might update my review after a couple of months of regular use. In the mean time, this feels deserving of 5 stars to me.

Well packaged, and it does say Made in Germany. It is compact and comes with batteries. Ran a couple of tests with calibrated weights and readings came out accurately. The "Tare" functionality could have had a button of its own but nonetheless, it is easy to figure out. I liked the fact that it is one single integrated piece with a flat glass surface, no removable plate or pedestal that sits on top of a strain guage like most others in this price range.

I would give a zero star if I could. The first time I ordered this product, the product was clearly used and it wouldn't switch on. It had paint marks on the side. So I returned it and opted for a replacement. The second scale was worse. The seal was opened, so I knew it was used and the back was completely sticky and the battery had leaked. I don't know if the onus is on Amazon or the seller, I'd suggest you stay away from this scale.

The scale doesn't measure accurately at all. Half the time the numbers go crazy in the display. Sometimes it starts showing 5-10 gms extra for no reason. Sometimes even without anything on it, the display starts random weights. It's pretty to look at but very very annoying!

This is a little bit difficult to use intially but once u get the hang of it its really useful ! i received a red and white polka dot one. Worth the money !

I am so much into baking n looking for a budget weighting scale and i found this.... At this price its too good also its very durable
