i ended up buying a few of the 22" versions of these, they are awesome. the 'Anglaise Lace" is especially nice, it has a jaggedy hem and this pretty eyelet-lace trim. it adds more fullness to your skirt than the ones that have a more narrow ruffle at the bottom for better or worse (i have the anglaise in black and ivory, as well as a more traditional lace one in black, and one with a double plain ruffle in ivory. i have been wearing them several times a week this summer, especially with a couple cotton dresses i have that look like big shirts, but are too short once belted, and the bit of lace peeking out at the bottom adds a nice contrast. they are soft after a wash or 2, and are very cool and comfortable. they are all cotton, with the exception of the netting part of the lacy one (its embroidered pattern feels like cotton, tho, even). the elastic at the top of them is substantial enough that you can fold it over, and it'll stay put, if too much underskirt is peeking out. i'm supershort (5'0") and it just skims the tops of my knees when i don't fold it. i bought the small size and it seems perfect. i'm not really that petite despite my height (27" waist and kindov chubby/curvy). i think the small would fit someone several inches smaller, but were i any larger, i'd go with a medium. i do wish the ivory were more of a creamy color...it just appears to be a soft white. it seems like it could be a great base for fabric dye. anyway i am finding them to be an extremely good buy. multipurpose items that add comfort, usefulness, and interest to stuff you may already have. i don't think i could make them for much less than they cost, then there would be the time, too, of course!

Great length for tall daughter (6'1"). Extended a shorter dress to cover the knee. Actually improved the look of the original dress!
