Solid radio
Great product functionality and durability for the price. I bought 12 for a parking / range detail. They have held up for 50 hrs of use so far. The battery life is good. Range seems to be about 1 mile even in hilly terrain. Easy to use and set up charger system.

Limited features
These are decent quality radios with some useful accessories. The best parts about them are the rechargeable batteries, the simple design, and the twist knob style volume. Unfortunately this simplicity also makes it less useful. It is advertised as having CTCSS and DCS channel capabilities, along with an emergency alarm call, voice operated transmission, channel scanning, and adjustable squelching levels, but they offer no instruction on how to utilize these functions other than the occasional "can be set using software", which would be annoying to begin with - as these functions are usually accessible directly within a radio's menu - but even IF this were the case, there is absolutely no information on what software to use or how to utilize it with these radios. So if you want a VERY simple set of radios with minimal functionality, these are a good price and will serve you well. If you are looking for a radio with a full set of features you can access easily, find something else.

A step up from toy walkie-talkies but not a 4 mile range
After being let down by a set of children’s walkie-talkies on a cruise ship—they only worked if both people were outside and had a frustratingly short range—I decided to try this more serious set. While I haven’t tested them over water yet, I’ve used them on the mainland, and they’ve already proven to be a significant improvement. At close range (within half a mile), the audio is impressively clear, almost like talking on a cell phone. As the distance increases, the quality gradually declines, with some static or squelching creeping in. What I found intriguing is that the audio doesn’t become garbled or unintelligible as the signal weakens—it simply cuts out entirely. Even more interesting is that the radios still flash a green light to indicate a message is being transmitted, even if the audio can’t be heard. In my tests, the signal cut out at around 2.5 miles, which falls short of the advertised 4-mile range but is still a noticeable upgrade from my previous set.The maximum volume is adequate when the radio is nearby, but it doesn’t get particularly loud. It’s not something you’d hear clearly in the next room or over significant background noise, which is worth considering if you’re planning to use these in emergencies. While I would usually default to the current max volume, it would be nice to have the option to crank it up higher when needed. One of the standout features is the rechargeable batteries. The set includes charging stands for each radio, which is super convenient for daily users who can just drop the radios in after use. For travelers like me, the USB-C charging option is a huge plus—it means one less cable to pack, since I can use the same one as my phone. The kit also comes with all the essential accessories, like removable clips and earpieces, making it a well-rounded package.Value: The current price is $23.99 USD for a two-pack. While I’ve seen several four-packs listed for just a few dollars more, none of them offer the dual charging options this set does. Considering these are only slightly more expensive than the kid-friendly versions but come with better quality and more accessories, they’re a solid value for the price.

Reliable Walkie-Talkies for Everyday Use
I got these walkie-talkies for recreational use—mostly for playing with my son or communicating from one end of the property to the other. So far, I’ve been pleasantly surprised. They come with everything you need to get started, including some earpieces for hands-free use. Each walkie-talkie has 16 different channels to choose from, all controlled by a simple dial at the top. No need to mess with buttons—you just rotate the knob, and a voice tells you what channel you’re on.I like that they have rechargeable batteries. We had some older walkie-talkies that used AAA batteries, which was nice because you could swap them out if they died, but man, did they burn through those batteries. Rechargeable is the way to go, and these don't disappoint. We’ve left them on for several hours and they never died. I’m not sure if the walkie-talkie goes into some sort of standby mode, but when they’re on, they don’t seem to use much battery. Also, charging them is pretty quick. You can use the included stand or plug them into a standard USB-C port to charge. The only thing we haven’t tested much is the range. We’ve used them over a couple hundred feet and they worked just fine. I’ll eventually test them more once we get the chance.Lastly, I enjoy the ease of use. The radio has three buttons, transmit, flashlight and a monitor button. Other than that, you just have the two knobs at the top, so if you need to switch channel, all you do is rotate the knob. This makes it easier for my son to learn how to use it.

Clear signal, limited range claims.
Tested outdoors across an open park. Clear voice transmission under a mile; heavy obstacles or buildings cut range quickly, but it probably varies a lot place to place. I'm in a pretty large city. Battery life is excellent for a full day’s casual use. USB charging is convenient and eliminates proprietary docks. Earpieces included but feel cheap. Good basic set for events, camping, or hiking. The included charging cradle is really nice, as is built in USB-C charging. Really cool feature set for the price.
