VCC & CCVC Word Games

I bought these magnets to use in my K-2 classroom. They have been really versatile for phonemic awareness and phonics activities in small groups. I dumped them into a bucket for my students to pick a random word. We first hit the vocabulary (what is it?), then we can listen for the sounds in the word (beginning, middle, end). My students struggle to isolate blends, so it's helpful to have so many words that they can use to practice. From there, students can sort the magnets into categories based on their sounds. For some kids, we may sort by matching to an alphabet or sound chart. For others, maybe we are sorting by vowel sound. They can even use Elkonin boxes to map the word or write them. After working on the skill in small groups, it would be a great word work center activity.The fact that they're magnetic makes it easy to display them on a vertical surface like a whiteboard where everyone can easily see. There are so many things you can do with these magnets. I definitely recommend to teachers and parents that want to work on basic reading skills at home.

These picture magnets are perfect for teaching my kindergarteners the first sound in words. They are also great for my second graders to work on hearing blends in words and spelling blends when writing. I also use them for sorting if the blend is before the vowel or after the vowel. Kids forget they are learning when they are using this fun phonics tool.

The pictures on these fridge magnets are very kid friendly and engaging. They are easy to stick on and remove from metal surfaces, although they aren't strong enough to hold up papers by themselves. They aren't very large and work better one-on-one, in a small group setting, or at a center. Kids wouldn't be able to know what some of these images are from a distance.

My toddler loves magnets and calling out things she recognizes. These foam/print magnets seem sturdy enough to last and the designs themselves are relevant and pleasing. The reference sheet is nice as well.

I use these with my homeschooled 6 year old as a fun aid to help in her reading/spelling journey. We use them two different ways: For decoding practice, I grab a few magnets and write the corresponding words on a sheet of paper and let her read the word then match it up with the right magnet. For encoding, I pull a couple of magnets out and have her write the word next to each one. It's really easy to find CVC versions of this kind of magnet but I haven't found many CVCC & CCVC versions so it was really nice to happen upon this set. The magnets are well made with nice designs. The foam picture part is stuck very well to the magnet part so I don't worry about them coming apart over time. I like that they include a reference sheet to provide you with the target word because they're not all super obvious. It's a nice set and it's been helping my daughter a lot and it's great break from worksheets.

I love these for my speech room. They have perfect words for categories, matching, descriptions and associations. I use them on my white board and it helps keep the kids engaged. The magnets themselves are mounted on a stiff foam that makes them easy for little fingers to pick off the white board and move around.

A great educational toy for toddlers and small kids. The package comes with 50 magnetic foam toys with bright attractive pictures on top which will help the kids to learn basic CVC and cvcc words.The foam quality is very soft and thick and has rounded corners so that does not bend easily and very comfortable to hold. The magnetic covers full backside and sticks very wells on all metal or magnet friendly surfaces. However, it does come it easily as well without any extra effort and causing wear and tear to the product.The colorful pictures attract kids and they get hooked on to playing with for some time along with the added benefit of providing education. I would say it’s a great investment for teacher or home schooling kids.

I have ordered various sets of magnets over the years and I am really glad I found this set. There are 50 total magnets, and there are many different objects and things that kids can learn on these magnets. The graphics are printed well and are crisp, they are on a foam-backed type of material, and the magnet sticks well to my magnet wall. I like the white bubble sort of shape around each of the things printed on the magnets because it makes them very visible and consistent across the full set so they look like they all go together. I would recommend this set.
