Kristy's Summer Cutting Garden: A Watercoloring Book (Kristy's Cutting Garden, 2)

I’ve had this watercoloring book in my cart for YEARS! I’ve been dreaming of a watercoloring book that I can just have fun with and not sketch out myself. I’m lazy & I use DaVinci Eye for my sketches… so after accidentally finding Kristy’s YouTube channel & one of her videos on this book, I knew that i NEEDED IT! It surpassed my expectations!Review-🤍Love the quality of book and pages. I had no issue using watercolor or gouache on them.The paper reminds me of what “the modern witch tarot” coloring book uses, but better and actually for watercolor.I layered 3x without issue.So unless you’re using a pallet knife, I’m not sure how you’re messing up the pages.🤍 images/drawings are beautiful! Everything I personally love! Will have to invest in all the books so I can have a complete collection🤍 Kristy’s personality and kindness is just FELT throughout the book. I was hesitant about even messing it up and my art not being “perfect” … but in one of her videos, she talks about just letting go and having fun! So that’s what I did!🤍 I would of paid a lot more for this book- the insight and tips are great! I love her color wheel and love how it had “DS Moonglow” bc that’s one of my favorites⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Love- Stacy_SJ&A

I normally never write reviews, but I love this book. The illustrations are beautiful, it's easy to do, the paper is great, Kristy rice is just amazing at what she does. The paper is a little different to what your used to but once you get the hang of it painting on it is a breeze. This book is meant to enjoy it some illustration does have a lot going on but I just tend to paint little by little stop when I'm feeling over whelmed go back to it and it just starts coming into life. I can't wait for the fall and winter to come out and have them in my collection. Not only is the author so nice, if you have any questions or having a hard time you can email her or Facebook her and she will get back to you and help you out. Who does that ?! Anyways Thank you Kristy for an amazing book! Your an inspiration.

Easy to practice watercolor

This is my first of Kristy's coloring books. I have other coloring books and all wonderful in their own rights but I have always found the paper 'wanting'... This book is amazing. The attention to detail in her design and production are really just lovely. While the paper isn't what you would call traditional watercolor paper - I find it to be unique and smooth to the touch, yet if I can, call it slightly 'toothy' and takes water beautifully! I have just begun to enjoy this book and look forward to many peaceful moments with it.

I was introduced to this author by Henny DeSnoo whom I follow, adore and have learned so much from. Henny does this for a living and her word is golden to me. As she has taught me so much. This author is truly amazing and takes pride in the quality and books she sells. I’m a lifer now. Have almost every book now. TY Kristy & Henny 😘😘😘

Let me first say that I love Kristy's approach to watercolor - loose, joyful, organic. I also like the illustrations in this book, more so than in her previous ones. But I must say that this is not truly watercolor paper. It IS a step up from previous books, but the paints dry so quickly on this paper that blending colors is difficult. Once the color is thoroughly dry, rewetting the paint and adding more just makes kind of a muddy mess. I want to acknowledge also that if there were true, high-quality watercolor paper in here no one would be able to afford the book! I applaud her effort to bring watercolor coloring books to us and I continue to use them to boost my skills.

Another great book of drawing by Kristy. Always learn something from working through her books. I must because I keep buying them and practicing my watercoloring.

the designs are lovely from Kristy as always, I bought this one because of the heavy card stock and I was pleased with it, I actually prefer the heavier paper than what usually comes in colouring books. I did balk at the price but that is what you pay for the quality...

I love this book! Not only does it take watercolors excellently, but there is a lot of additional information, tips, and even inspirational quotes. I have done a few pages already, with beautiful results. This book is definitely a winner for me, and I will buy other books from Kristy Rice, and recommend them to anyone else interested in this kind of material.

I bought this just to have a play about with watercolor and was surprised how easy it was to paint in it and get results I am not an artist but this book allowed me to achieve results I never thought I could get get it and try it as it was really fun and I am enjoying the projects in it there are plenty of hints and tips from the artist and the book is nicely presented in a thick card fold out wallet as well
