This stand with boom arm is great for my 12x16x08 home studio. I use it for table top shots and sit down portraits with a strobe or a constant light and a small or large modifier. You definitely need two sand bags, one for the arm and the other for the legs. It has a wider floor radius than a C stand which makes sturdy. A good product at the price point and there have been no problems so far.

I've been using this studio light/camera stand for shooting product demos and it's been great. This is a well-built and sturdy support stand. It’s designed to hold a light fitting on the end, but I found I had an adapter for the screw thread to use it with microphones. It’s very clever how the horizontal bar is stored inside the main tubing when you pack it away, which is really neat and space saving in a studio. The weight bags arrive empty of course, all you need is some builders sand, play sand or stones and you are good to go. No more drooping microphones for me.
