Brilliant!
I'm a Mac user. But I needed a Windows computer to code my car. I didn't want to spend Apple ridiculous prices and I happened to find this little jewel. It has plenty of grunt, looks nice and has crisp resolution. It's fast enough for everyday use and was a dream to set up. It is also light and I'm even considering taking this on holiday instead of the hefty MacBook Pro. Highly recommended.

Asus vivobook X1504VA
Really great piece of kit. Got this to replace a 10 year old laptop. Really disappointed that there is no backlit keyboard as stated in specifications.

Spectacular Laptop Experienced Ruined By Dreadful Windows Build
Let me just start by saying that the Asus Vivobook X1505V is a superb laptop. Even more so when bought for just under £600 in the Black Friday sales. The screen, keyboard and overall build of the laptop is crisp and tidy. The OLED screen is delicious to look at, even with my ageing eyesight. I could, but won't, recommend this laptop to anyone and everyone! What do I mean by that? Read on! This experience has cost me a total of 14 hours over two days to get resolved, and then I had to use Microsoft Support to get there! I am an experienced user but have never seen a brand new, out of the box, laptop be quite so badly trashed! The photo's give an indication of what is going on. After the uneventful initial set up as I was making use of the laptop to install my suite of applications and data I observed that its performance was inconsistent, a bit stuttery, as if being overloaded! A quick check of Task Manager revealed that the CPU was peaking frequently over periods of minutes. At this point I hadn't seen the cause. Then I proceeded to Windows Update and the screen was full of failed or repeated attempts to download and install Windows 24H2 updates. A quick Google search suggested that 24H2 had some incompatibilities with certain Asus computers. But what of all the other updates with Download Errors? My WLAN and BB connections are fast and sound. Google and GeminiAI were not of much help, suggesting network errors. There were dozens of these failed Asus Driver and System updates! I finally opted to engage Microsoft Support to find out why Windows Update was hogging the system with all of these failed updates. It took them a while (entire time online with the agent on screen-share was about 40 minutes!). The agent found a number of Windows Services not running, where they should be, and by enabling them the 24H2 updates downloaded and went pending restart for the first time! So he then suggested a fresh install of Windows 11 from a Microsoft iso which I agreed to. I had already Factory Reset this laptop using the iso in the Recovery Partition to no avail. So this was worth a try. Success, finally, the Microsoft Windows 11 iso build worked first time. All of the Windows Updates ran to completion and installed. The Asus drivers experiencing Download Error were nowhere to be seen, they simply were not required updating! This tale of woe had a happy ending by sheer persistence and calling in whatever was needed. By the time I reached out to Microsoft I was ready to box the laptop up and send it back to Amazon for a full refund. And I have to wonder how many of these "bad" machines have made it out into customer's hands. With all that said, this is a great laptop, fast, light, and I'm quite taken by the MIL spec. If you buy one, and experience similar issues do not hesitate to grab a Microsoft Windows 11 iso from their website and perform a completely fresh reinstall of Windows 11. Don't even try and fix the Asus build.

Great laptop
Great laptop, Iove the screen. It all boots up fast and I’m a happy bunny
C**.
Max resolution of external monitor is 1920x1080 which is pathetic and annoying.
*** Biggest negative is the HDMI only supports up to 1920x1080 which is pretty pathetic!! *** Pluses * Good value, great image quality on the built in display. other Minuses# * the USB C does not support any external displays such as USB C docks. This is despite the symbol beside the USB C port that looks like a thunderbolt symbol. So the only external display supported is a single HDMI * There is no number lock indicator light on the built in keyboard so the number pad is pretty useless

had the laptop a few months now but realy frustrated and annoyed that the laptop keep interupting whatever i am doing with constant naging to accept a Mcafree subscrition and a couple of other facilities it completely takes over my screen and the only way to get rid of these taking over my scrreen as ther is noi way to dismiss them is to accept the once done you have to keep pressing skip for the next ten screens alo offerong ms and another company offering computer technical support. i should never have brought this as even deleting this programme in the apps its still here and cant get ris of it thus making my laptop completely usesless

Incorrect description
3 points to note. The keyboard is NOT backlit The refresh rate is 90 Hz (not 120 as stated in title). The screen is not a touchscreen. Other than that it is a great laptop and very competitevly priced (at £600 currently)
