Q: Can you keep these on when tossing?

Tossing, yes. Throwing - no. I wear it on my glove hand, it’s a bit snug, but it works fine. Good padding for batting or even playing pickleball. When it’s cool out I even wear playing disc golf or pickleball on both hands. But not the throwing hand when playing league or tournament softball games

Q: do these gloves have padding on the back side? The back of my hands bruise easily.

There is no padding on back of hand,just on the palm areas.
