So, even though this lamp is not the original Epson lamp, it certainly looks (down to the smallest detail) and works like one. My original lamp had 2000 hours on it and I thought it was getting dim, but this new lamp has the same brightness. The reason I replaced the original was because the projector would almost always start up in the "test" mode and sometimes would just run amok in that mode (indicating a lamp fault) until you unplugged it. Apparently, the projector is programmed to "test" the lamp once it gets beyond a certain hour usage point, even though I see no reason for it. The new lamp hasn't caused the test mode yet with about 20 hours on it, and neither did the original lamp when it was new. These replacements on Amazon range drastically in price, but this one looked like a good deal. It has been so far, but I'll update my review if it turns out to be a dud. The lamp comes with a screwdriver and a lens cleaning cloth which is all you need to install it. Very easy, and well packaged, too. I purchased one of the low cost lamps for my old Epson projector and was greatly disappointed, so I decided to take a chance on this one since it is the next most expensive that Amazon had. Still cheaper than the "original equipment" Epson lamp, but not the cheapest. So far, so good! You get what you pay for.

This lamp blew within a month of using it and they always last us about a year. We contacted the company and they didn’t get back with us so We sent it back for a refund through Amazon because it was defective. We got charged a $16 fee for returning it when the product was defective. If you’re going to purchase a lamp purchase it on Epson.com.

This lamp replacement was easy to install and budget priced. The quality of the picture is bright, clear and colors are vibrant.

Lamp works great but it hasn’t lasted as long as it should. It was supposed to be a few thousand hours. We’re on a few hundred and we’re getting warning messages to replace the lamp.

I have always bought Epson original replacement bulbs but unfortunately they were out of stock when I needed one so I decided to give this bulb a try. This bulb is an “Amazon choice” and about 3/4 the price of the Epson so I thought I would give it a try. Unfortunately the performance of the bulb was about 1/2 of the Epson and I am being generous. At its max brightness it is dim and often fluctuates during viewing. I returned this product and fortunately for me the Epson's stock has been replenished and I am happy to pay for the original.
