beautiful book for coloring or just for inspiration
I'm a grown-up who LOVES coloring books- I purchase them, scan the pages, print them out on watercolor paper, and use my watercolors on them. I find it very soothing and relaxing. The "Just Add Color" (specifically the Lisa Congdon series) are some of my favorite new coloring books- each has about sixty pages, single-sided, with about thirty designs per book. The Folk Art book is hand-drawn and features some beautiful designs- lots of florals and fruit, and repeating motifs. Lisa Congdon is brilliant, so I love being able to "color in" her line drawings.I think kids would LOVE this book, too- the designs are not super-simple, but they aren't so complex you need a micro-fine pen and perfect hand-eye coordination. They are just designs that are fun to color (or paint) without having to stress over where to put which color where.Highly recommended!

Meh--Not Impressed
I buy a lot of "adult" coloring books and had heard a lot about Lisa Congdon, so I wanted to give this a try.The 3 stars are basically for the following--a nice cover, thick high quality pages, and one sided pictures. In fairness, some of the images are cute.Despite that, for an over $10 coloring book--30 illustrations that are fairly simple and many too similar to others, the book is not worth it. I do value good paper and appreciate having less complicated books depending on my mood and time schedule. However, this one just doesn't cut it.For a much better value, similar quality, and only slightly more complex illustrations (and 50 at that), I would highly recommend 50 Shades of Fun: The New Joy of Coloring by Pamela Thompson. (I have no affiliation to her or the publisher and paid for it myself.)

Lots of fun for ALL! You don' have to be an artist!
I am disabled an spend a lot of time sitting up in bed. These coloring books have become a really fun diversion for me. And as an artist myself they help to get my creative juices flowing! I'd recommend them to ANYONE!

folk art ideas
This book is from an amazing aeries that offers different kinds of art designs. I like this one, in particular, because I am interested in folk art (mainly Scandinavian and oriental). I like Norwegian rosemaling and this book has some designs that are similar to it.

Nice book but too simplified for my taste
Nice book but too simplified for my taste. Good paper and perforated pages. I just like more intricate designs.

I loved the quality of the book and paper
I loved the quality of the book and paper, but I personally like the more detailed illustrations rather than the simple ones in this book. Nonetheless I am enjoying it.

Nice paper
Received today and WOW.....this is the nicest paper ever.I usually like a bit more detail, I like to get lost in the process. But the paper is so heavy and rich I'm going to order another one.

Muy buen libro para colorear
El libro me encanto, tiene una buena cantidad de dibujos, solo viene uno por hoja, el papel es grueso para usarlo con el material que mas nos guste.
