Hugger Mugger V-Shaped Meditation Cushion - Provides Support in Cross-Legged Sitting, Promotes Healthy Posture, Handmade in The USA

I've been trying to establish a meditation practice for a few years, but never bought a meditation cushion since I knew that I had a hard time sticking to my practice. I decided to treat myself to this cushion after reading the great reviews about it and since I wanted to start a practice for 2014. I love it! It's very comfortable, and the buckwheat hulls aren't super packed in, which means that you can adjust it to fit your body frame more comfortably. The fabric is also very nice and thick. It helps keep your back upright and tall while you sit. I constantly have low back pain due to my poor posture, but this makes my back feel good. This thing is also very heavy, but there is a carrying handle on the top that makes it easy to carry around. I also plan on leaving it in a small corner of a spare bedroom, where I set up a meditation space. Really nice quality!

I practice yoga 6 times a week, and use this pillow each time: it is sturdy enough to support my weight, it has the perfect height to elevate my body away from the floor, allowing me increased hip opening, less knee discomfort, and ability to extend my torso as I lower my legs towards the ground. I have not experienced any issues with this pillow and totally recommend it. Planning on buying a 2nd one as give-away Christmas present during my yoga practice. Namaste!

Bought this zafu for meditation as I have difficulty sitting cross-legged on the floor. Have been using this at home for a month and has definitely helped me with the transition to sitting meditation (on the floor) for up to an hour. The V shape helps support the knees and keeps the back straighter by sloping your body forward. I use a long pillow to support the ankles, when on a wood floor, this where a zabuton will help. I would ideally like it to be a bit more firmer, which can easily be done by adding more hulls. The case is sturdy and the hulls seem to be of good quality. If you intend to carry it with you to a meditation center etc, would definitely recommend having an additional cover over the case, not sure if HM makes one. The only con that I can think of is: The zipper under the handle is too small. So when the time comes to wash the case or change out the buckwheat hulls, would probably need a funnel to fill it . Would probably look into buying cover for this. Hope this helps you decide if this zafu is for you.

Ahhh, what a comfortable cushion. Update 12/15- the filling was leaking out due to the facts that it is not contained in anything inside. Just filling and the cloth exterior. Was at an I say event, using this daily. I would come into class in the a.m and see pieces of filling in my mat from the day before. At first I didn't think it had anything to do with my mugger, maybe someone had spilled on my mat? Then saw zipper ever so slightly was opening with use. VERY disappointing as it is now less firm. Update...8/16 Almost a year since my first review. I use this cushion regularly, no more leaking buckwheat hulls, which tells me what I had originally suspected was correct. Sadly, someone had twice taken out of my cushion at an event where the cushion stayed out in conference room overnight for 5 days. Pitiful isn't it? I love this cushion, perfect support and doesn't leak filling.

Beautiful, comfortable, high quality and helps with spine alignment and reduces pressures on ankles, however....there is NO zipper. The volume of hulls CANNOT be adjusted. I had this same brand years ago and it was fully zippered, buckwheat hulls were inside a white cotton V-shaped bag which allowed for hull volume to be adjusted. Very disappointing. Please correct your erroneous listing description for this product.
