Took my husband off of statin and gave him policosanol 20 mg each night with dinner and it lowered his cholesterol without statin.

I had to give this to my friend, as It didn't work for me. She said it worked well for her Her cholesterol is just a little higher than when she was on medication that gave her bad side effects

I tried this as part of my action plan to lower my cholesterol but did not do a controlled study so don't know if it was effective or not; but my cholesterol did drop so maybe it's part of that.

It's difficult to prove how this product is helpful since I use crestor and other supplements, also. MY doctors want me to keep the bad cholesterol down below 70 and mine is currently 67. Since policosanol is not expensive and is easy on my system I have been taking it for 25 years. I need to say, do what your Doctors advises, not me.
