I reviewed the P-40 version of this as well. The P-40 was my first model by this manufacturer, and I was extremely happy with it. This model did not disappoint. The controller is smaller, but not too small. The experience switch is awesome. Keep it on beginner mode and you'll likely not crash very often. These planes are SUPER strong. I've ran into my fence trying to land, hit the ground too fast/hard, and this thing just keeps on going. I haven't even broken a propeller yet. For the money, I don't think you could buy better planes. Easy to fly, fun to fly in pairs with a friend and just all around great for beginners. The gyro works perfectly. In intermediate mode you can feel it get a little more twitchy, especially in strong winds. Then in Expert mode it turns the gyro off completely and things get difficult fast. But keep in in beginner mode and you'll have a ton of fun for a little bit of money. Highly recommend this and the other models.

Two minutes into the first flight and I knew this Ranger was the right choice for me to get into RC planes. My son and brother both recently got into flying but their planes have to maintain a pretty high speed to stay aloft which made me nervous to learn on. This thing can cruise slowly which makes learning to fly much easier. I had it in beginner mode which makes the plane level off automatically if you let off the steering, but can also perform acrobatics in the moderate and advance settings. After going through both batteries over about 40 minutes of flying I feel like an experienced and confident flyer. The plane is built to take falls and it could likely hit a person directly at full speed without injury. Its not at all intimidating and needs a small space to fly in. The rear-mounted propeller is so helpfull when landing, no prop damage like a typical plane. So FUN!

I'm new to the RC airplane hobby and for the quality and durability that this offers you at a phenomenal price is where it's at. Easy to control I've crashed a bunch of times only thing I would say is make sure you check the landing gear brackets make sure that they're glued and right other than that is very doable battery life's pretty good as long as you're not in the throttle harvesting all the time. Strong playing withstands crashes and the durability is above my expectations not as big as I thought it was but still the sizes great for beginners
