Morals And Dogma Review: This Text Is simply About Making Good Men Better - Review of: "Morals and Dogma of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry Prepared for The Supreme Council of the 33rd Degree for the Southern Jurisdiction of the United States and Published by its Authority Hardcover – January 1, 1963," by Albert Pike. On the surface this book comprises 861 pages of philosophy and esoteric insight into the Thirty-Two Degrees in Freemasonry. The Thirty-Third Degree is honorary. For the practicing Freemason at that level who takes these printed words to heart it serves as a road-map for living a self-actualized life. A life that serves others before self-serving. A noble pathway that should be heralded and not hidden. The author, Albert Pike, was a man who lived an interesting life. He was a poet, journalist, lawyer, an Officer in the U.S. Army and C.S. Army, and of course a Freemason. This text is Pike's opus magnum; his masterpiece. The advice given and provided to the Freemason who is willing to employ it is as relevant today as it was when first written. For those looking for a tome on "magick," etc. just pass on this. For those looking to link "Satanism" or something profane to it, please move on. This text is simply about making good men better. Nothing more. Five+ stars. It is simply invaluable. Review: Great Read - Great read only read one chapter lost my copy need to order a new one!

One of my all time favourite books
Best book by the Father of Free Masonry. If political studies interest you, there is no better book that explains the founding of our nation and republic.

very eye opening
makes you really wonder about albert pike, he predicted the first world war and the second world war, and who and how they would be fought, and has a prediction for the third world war... that seems to be coming true... hmmm

Would mostly just like to say that the publishing quality is out standing. The hardback edition by Devoted Publishing was very affordable, picked it up for roughly £6 with free delivery, the pages are a very fine dark colour and the print is small whilst being spaced out decently so as to still be easy to read. I won't speak of the content, as its a book that will be read for many different reasons, whether from a historical, academic, masonic, mystical, occult, and conspiratorial. Safe to say, if you want to read this book, this is one of the best editions to get in print, as it will last long and be a good addition to a personal library.

I've read a bit into the book so far. I also read a bit of it online... I have the PDF form of the entire Book of Morals & Dogma. It appears so far by my reading of Albert Pike's book. Christians are spreading false information & lies about the man. Going to read through it all to see further. Buy the book & read it for yourself before you pass judgement!

This is a gargantuan tome by the most respected and revered Freemason scholar and esoteric figure in history.Manly P Hall is the 2nd but Albert Pike had detractors due to connection to KKK and for being the perpetrator of some serious alleged crimes. All that said and done the content and prose of this book is overwhelming in its scope and message.Pike's style is not the most easily accessible but the beauty and power of his prose is up there with Nabokov,Rushdie and Keats for me.While reading the texts you feel the importance and knowledge of the text move you and enlighten you. This is less factual than his book on the Aryan Gods and legendary myths but the verses contain illumination of a high order. This book was practically the bible of the more wise and knowledgeable Scottish rite of Freemasonry but should be read by any lover of mysticism and the esoteric. As well written and poetic it is at times it is a hard but worthwhile read. For simpleness and accessibility it is almost as hard as "Finnegan's wake" if you are a Mason you should definitely own a copy.
