I last purchased this item in 2019 for my 99 Skipjack with a Volvo Penta. Pump has worked extremely well until current leaking. Unit is still operational, just leaking. For running 5+ years in salt, I would say that's a win. Ordering again.

So far it’s been working for 2+ months. Seems like a good replacement. The fittings aren’t OEM quality but they’re workable.

This was a drop in replacement for the failed pump assembly on my 2000 Four Winns Horizon Volvo Penta SX tilt/trim unit. It came with two sets of hydraulic line adapters for different thread styles, rubber o-rings and line seals. All it takes is to install the main adapters then the correct line adapters, connect the lines, electrical plug, fill with atf and run it up and down a few times. Took longer to get the boat apart for access than the actual swap. About 2 hours total. Put the old unit in a tub or plastic lined box before loosening the hydraulic lines and cover with a towel since they will spew from pressure. Loosen each one slowly. Carefully select the correct adapter pair. Install the larger orings over the first adapters and the small ones over the tips of the lines.

It was a bit challenging getting the fittings to work, although after I figured it out the the pump was worked on my boat (2003 Four Winns Freedom 170 with Volvo 4.3 GL).

If your existing pump is Volvo Penta Model 3860879 do NOT buy this unit, It will not work. Purchased to replace Volvo Penta OEM part 3860879. After significant effort removing the old (photo Attached) and reinstalling the new pump in a nearly impossible to reach location in the boat bilge it was reconnected and tested. Yes, the fittings threaded in and tightened, everything seemed fine... but it wasn't. When the pump ran the fittings on both connections literally drained fluid out, draining 1/2 the reservoir capacity out into the bilge with just one cycle to raise and lower of the outdrive. The hose end fittings on my system include a small o ring on the tip of the tube (see attached photo). For scale- the hex nut in the pic is 7/16". Check your existing hose end fitting before you order, if your fittings look like this don't buy this unit. To add insult to injury my efforts to reach out to the supplier Rareelectrical to see if they could just supply the correct fittings so I did not have to undergo a repeat of the effort to remove and reinstall the entire unit again was met with a " I couldn't care less" attitude from the person I spoke with on the phone. All of my other attempts to reach out to them (by direct email and by email through amazon system ) went completely ignored and unanswered. Other reviews here also indicated they had a similar issue but were able to find the correct fittings and were able to ultimately use the pump. I tried all local sources and scoured the internet but could not locate the correct fittings. The fitting on the end of the hoses seems to be rather unique and compatible fittings are not easy to find. Ultimately the unit had to be removed in its entirety and returned. Then a suitable replacement had to be found from another source and the whole painful install process repeated all over again. All the while the summers great boating weather days slip away. NOT HAPPY! Hopefully this review can spare someone else the unpleasant experience I had.

Product worked as described. Seems to be good quality.

Replaced a factory Volvo Trim tab with this Tilt Trim motor. Works like the original tilt trim motor. Note: most trim motors don't fail, but if you need a replacement, try this one.

This was not a direct bolt in. The hydraulic fittings were incorrect, being too long to seat the hoses. Also the mounting holes were sae thread where the original is metric. Not sure of any other issues at this time. Good price compared to oem
