I feel like I owe my hair an apology and a trip somewhere because I haven't been treating it like I thought I was, until now. There is a light almost coffee smell that I find pleasant. A little goes a long way since it melts into oil so you don't have to slather it in there and can actually just moisturize your hair (do a couple light passes so you do over/underdo.), brush it up overnight into buns or braid (just make you have worked it through to your scalp a bit -- I used a brush or just my fingertips), and when you shampoo and condition? I dare you to say you can't notice how soft your hair feels. It reduces the amount of extra products we use to lock in moisture, but I still used some of my products. Used noticeably smaller amounts. Hair growth? Yes, and strength and overall healthy. Insane hair growth? It's more like your hair is getting nourished and rebuilt so you notice differences at different stages. What's my hair like? Coil curls that shrink as they dry, but when I blow my hair out it can reach the small of my back. Nope, I try to avoid personal pics. Besides, I wrote a whole novel.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do. It not only smells amazing like the aroma of fresh coffee but it actually GROWS your hair. It helps your hair retain length while your hair gets to a manageable state with a luxurious shine. I allow batana oil to stay on my scalp instead of washing it out. No oily build-up. I used Batana oil 2x per week. My no hair wash day routine consisted of: Misting my scalp and hair with a leave in conditioner then applying Batana oil to my scalp and hair concentrating on the oldest parts of my hair. I use at least 1 jar per month so it's necessary to have Batana Oil (weight: 4.23 oz. Jar) included amongst my monthly delevery subscription. My hair has grown longer much much faster, has gotten very resilient to breakage and I am LOVING IT! My hair feels soft and smells great. This is the best condition my hair has been in a long time. I just got this oil, so I haven’t used it long enough to see full results yet, but it smells really good and feels high-quality. The texture is rich and smooth, and it melts nicely when warmed between my hands. It seems authentic and pure — definitely has that natural, earthy scent that real Batana oil is known for. I’m looking forward to seeing how it works over time for hair strength and growth. Overall: So far, I’m really happy with it! Great first impression — smells wonderful and feels genuine.

This was OK, but I wouldn't buy it again. It was effective for moisturizing, but left my hair greasier than what I like. If you want to try it, I'd recommend watering it down before applying, using it before bed, and washing your hair in the morning. I didn't use it long enough to see results. I prefer castor and rosemary oils in terms of how my scalp feels.

Date of review Sept 5. First use Aug 18th. Hair type: Chemically relaxed African descent hair. Age: 42 Usage: I have used this 3-4 days of the each week. I'd put the oil around my hairline, on my scalp and on my hair, finger rub, finger massage, then use a massage brush.... about 5-10 minutes. Scent: The scent is similar to caramel toffee, or creamy coffee. It is not an oily or overly greasy product at all. Hair story: I have possibly over processed my hair with permanent hair dye (to hide gray). I have very thick hair, so I never cared that they were breaking, but they were breaking now to a concerning point, scary almost. I wash my hair weekly. Action taken: Researched and landed here. I got a grip of myself and decided to embrace the grays and be true to myself. Stopped dye. RESULTS: In the 2.5 weeks of using this product, my hair breakage has significantly reduced by at least 70%. This is unreal!!!!! Also, usually when I wash my hair, whether I blow or air dry, my hair is fuzzy, so I would have to moisturize it while wet, blow dry and wrap it overnight with moisturizer, hair food and even then, it is still a couple days before the fuzz is gone. But this time was different. When I washed it, I applied the Batana oil while it was still wet and blow dry, applied to the hair and scalp and wrapped it. I used nothing else. The next day when I took the wrap down, I was blown away! NO FUZZ, AMAZING SHINE, just beautiful soft hair. I wanted to cry. I called my mom on video to talk as usual and her first words were, "Wow, your hair looks amazing, you went to the salon?" I shall say no more.

Made in china Smells strongly of coffee this is an indicator that it’s extremely poor quality do not buy.

This is original Batana oil. I have 2 at home from a different brand but they feel like lotion unlike this one. It has an oily texture and smells abit like coffee. And I like that it doesn’t leave my hair greasy.

Got my batana oil today. Not thick as in the pictures,has a light feeling like mayonnaise. Is it supposed to be like that?
