It's a stick of metal
Not heavy at all. Got this to help start camp or emergancy fires with ferro rod. I'll have to review how it works when I try it out.

Don't buy for Hydrogen Water.
These rods turn black once placed in Vinegar, which is a sign of other metals being present. Pure Magnesium Sticks should get shiny and clean when placed in Vinegar. I wouldn't suggest trying to use for hydrogen water as the other metals may make you sick.

These do not work for fire starters
Try as we would ,and with different kinds of flint and steel we were unable to get a single spark
