Taste The Purple
I bought his Hotone Nano amp out of curiosity and the price is definitely right. I liked it with headphones, and then wanted to try running it through a couple of my other amps just to see what it could do. The first amp was my Fender Champion 100 thru the FX Loop, and that works great. Just plug one cable up to the Send on both amps, and another instrument cable for Return, and you are done. Then I tried hooking it up to my Orange Crush 35RT. That one hooks up differently. I had help with Google and AI doing this. If you are just using solid-state amps, disregard anything AI tells you about having to use a "Dummy Speaker Device" because you don't need one. If you are using tube amps, then you want to pay attention to that. The next amp was my Orange Crush 35RT. To hook the Hotone Purple Wind to the Orange, you want an Audio cable with a 1/8" Stereo Male on one end, and a 1/4" Male on the other end. I plugged the 1/8" Stereo Male into the back of the Hotone Purple Wind into the Line Out, and plugged the 1/4" Male into the Instrument Jack. I turned both the Gain and Volume down on both amps before turning them on. Once on, I adjusted the Hotone Purple Wind setting first, and then I was able to slowly add Volume and Gain on the Orange. That was fun. I turned the bass up on the Purple Wind as it sounds a little on the Trebly side, and for good measure, I adjusted the Orange as well. All this time I was wondering why nobody has done on YouTube on setting these things up with various other amps. If somebody is using a tube amp and doesn't know what a "Dummy Speaker Device" is, or where to get one. They come in different wattages too, and you will need to know that as well. I'm really happy with these cute little amps and already ordered a British Invasion, and will probably also get a Mojo Diamond and a Vulcan 5.

No brainer!!!
Plexi lover for over 30 years here. This amp is incredible. I have a real Plexi and this is fairly close. Takes a little practice to dial in but this amp has it. The controls do change the sound dramatically. But I think it’s a good thing. It has a lot of different Plexi style tones. Add just a touch of drive from my tc electronics tube pilot, and it’s “brown sound” all the live long day! Very realistic tube sound. Doesn’t sound AM radio at all. Connect The effects loop out to a board and go direct and run through the monitors. I have a Marshall Code 100 head and this sounds A LOT better. A no brainer for around $100.

Great idea, minor flaw... fun toy or practice amp.
Grabbed this after reading every review I could find... not many exist yet. A reviewer here mentioned a hum when at idle. I found that it does indeed hum fairly loudly if the Volume or Gain controls are dimed. It also seems to hum more if a single coil guitar has it's tone control dimed. Keep the volume and gain at "bedroom" levels and it sounds fine. It certainly is noticeable and slightly annoying, but not a deal breaker for me. With my Gibson Melody Maker tone control up to 10, it does hum when volume or gain are above about '7' or so (rough estimate as not marked... about 3o'clock on clock dial looking at the knob) If I back off volume and gain a bit, the hum goes away. Using humbuckers via a Gretsch 6120, Gibson Les Paul Studio and a BC Rich Bich, it hums noticeably less... but it is still present above about '8'. I strongly suspect the power supply is the culprit in causing the hum. I'm pondering trying to cobble together a supply that will reduce the noise... perhaps an inline noise filter between the power supply and the amp itself. Will be attempting to locate another power supply option, or build one myself to see if I can clear up the hum. That said... this is a neat amp. Offers 5 watts Class A/B in a format the size of a pedal. Wow. Tone is pretty amazing... the Bass, Middle, Treble and Gain controls really change the overall tone drastically. It does a pretty good job of giving you the Plexi tone at low volumes. Much better clone of the Plexi than other solid state modeling amps I've toyed with. The FX loop is a great touch... something I wish my vintage tube amps had. I did buy the British Invasion as well... between the two, the Purple Wind does the intended tone better. I would suggest buying the Purple Wind between the two if you are torn. Both are certainly neat options. But for the 200$ tag of buying both and still needing a speaker cabinet, these are not something I would suggest to someone buying their first, or sole amp. Overall... is the Purple Wind worth it? For me, yes. It adds the Plexi tone to my home playing in a tiny format. Would I gig it? Nope. 5 watts with less than 5 usable due to hum is too little. Would I record with it?... Nah, I have better amps. Would I buy it again?... Yes. Yes I would. Good option for a bedroom practice amp assuming you already have a speaker cabinet... I plug it through my existing cabinets and combos and it handles various speaker load impedance without issue. Great bedroom amp option for those looking to extend their tonal options.

It’s great for low volume practice
I don’t like playing with headphones on, so I use the 5w amp when I need to be quiet, I just got the Bantamp for Christmas, it’s a beast and very loud, with gain at 10 you can barely crack the volume knob. I love my tone cranked to 10, but that’s just not feasible sometimes. For the price, having the FX loop, it does the job I need it to do. Brown sound at less than 100db.

Buy it, seriously!
Don't even think about it, buy this immediately! Sounds fantastic, works great with pedals and it's just plain awesome. I've gig'd with it several times already, it's that good. At first I did it as a joke, but it performed so well I keep doing it. It's so small and easy to carry, I can literally attach it to my pedal board and run my cable. I'm running it on a Marshall 1960A cab, flawlessly.

Insomma in quetso caso "piccolo" è " bello " e suona bene !!!
