10,000 miles and no leaks!
Steering rack was a perfect fit for my 2004 Toyota Sequoia SR5 4wd. Install was pretty straightforward if you know what you’re doing and have the right tools. It was a great value over the most racks. I have had no issues with leaks after 10,000 miles.

2001 Toyota Sequoia
Product was an exact match fit perfectly, quality is good, only issues I see possibly long term are the machine welds on the points where the lines go attaching directly to the shaft itself seem alot weaker than the OEM welds (see picture) but not sure if this will become an issue just noting it, no leaks after 500+ miles, be sure to take care installing the the old lines up as they are extremely easy to cross thread took a few tries backing off to get it perfect they should screw on fairly easy. So far so good happy I made this purchase even if I have to replace it again eventually cost is worth it, happy customer

Cheap junk!!! Don't waste your money
BUYER BEWARE!!! Installed this on my tundra and after only 2 1/2 years it's leaking badly. Removed the boot to see where it was leaking and it's running out of the shaft. The chrome plating rusted and is chipping off damaging seals.I called the company because it "supposedly" has a "lifetime warranty" only to find out that's only if you give them your original oem steering rack to ACTIVATE your warranty.I offered to buy another rack and ship back the one they sold me that clearly has a manufacturing defect to get a refund. I was told that's not how it works and that would only activate the warranty on what would be my 2nd purchased from them.I would seriously consider buying elsewhere. Very poor quality and customer service. They don't stand behind there products and are sure to find a way out of the warranty someway or another.Very unhappy and disappointed with Detroit axel.

Perfect fit on my 2002 Toyota Tundra
My old rack developed a leak under the bushing on the passenger side, totally rotted out. This rack arrived within a few days and installed perfectly. I did change out the bushings for a set of high quality poly bushings.

Fits perfectly and looks good, issue with bushings discovered at alignment
Arrived promptly and properly packaged, though the transport plugs were not fully fastened and some steering fluid had leaked out. Not a problem but makes it look a bit dodgy. The rack fit perfectly on my 2005 DC. I added AC Delco Pro tie rods ends as the dealer wanted 100 a piece and did not have stock.I started the truck and all looks tight and works. Let's see what happens when I get it off the jack-stands and on to the road. Note if you are doing this alone and with vehicle on jack-stands that putting the steering shaft link back-on from under the vehicle is complex and unnecessary. Once the old rack is off you can remove the upper connector and clean it up. Then put the link on the rack first. The upper connector slides up and then on to the link. You'll see once you get in there.UPDATE: I lowered the rating to 3 stars. The story goes as follows: It took me two months to get around to aligning the truck. After finally getting the truck aligned, I noticed that the dead ahead position of the steering wheel was not stable at 0 degrees. Sometimes it would be up to 20 degrees off. When I went back to the alignment shop they told me that the rack was shifting position when turning lock-to-lock. I returned home with the truck and had my son turn the wheel lock-to-lock whilst observing from below. Sure enough the whole rack moved side-to-side! Clearly the drivers side bushing and the center bushing were not up to the job!As it was I had purchased a complete TRW bushing kit which came with the cuff and the other two bushings. I had exchanged the cuff for the new one from the TRW set but relied on the other two bushings that came with the rack. Today I extracted the two bushings and replaced them with the TRW items from the kit. Problem solved. The bushings that came with the steering rack are way too soft and inadequate for the steering forces of a full sized truck with (OEM sized) 265 tires mounted. Though easily remedied, I wasted almost a full day between returning to the alignment shop and jacking up the truck and extracting/installing the two TRW bushings. Exchanging the bushings when the rack is not yet on the truck is easy, a bit tougher when one has to crawl under it.....So, the rack itself is deserving of a higher rating but getting it delivered with sub-standard bushings is not acceptable. If you do purchase this rack then I recommend exchanging the two bushings before installing it on your truck.
