Yes you can wipe it down. Just so you know it is not prepasted. So you will need glue. Also I ordered 2rolls. I received one roll on time and the other came 4 weeks later. And the buyer said for me not cancel cause it was shipping and he would reimburse me which never happened. I did use one roll and it is very pretty

It is heat resistant? Can use it in the kitchen, for decoration?

Are you still in the kitchen that was my primary purpose for purchasing it. I used it all around the stove it wipes down very nicely and had no problems with heat. But I don't know how hot it will get in your kitchen
