This is the easiest to program and most reliable door I’ve found. We’ve used a couple others and they were super difficult to program and reprogram. 2 months in, it doesn’t need new batteries yet so I’m impressed.

This door is well built using a gear instead of the old spool ones. It does not do dusk to dawn. You must set a time to open and close. Glad our chickens can tell time

Door was super easy to install!We bought two traditional handmade chicken coops which came with traditional wooden chicken doors. We wanted a solution that would eliminate us having to manually open/close these doors several times per day.We settled on these doors because we wanted something that seemed durable, was not a smart door and all because of the simplicity of the design.The actual moving portion of the door is approximately 8” x 10” and is made of black aluminum. It has six holes for attaching it to your coop with deck screws or whatever else will fit through the holes.The battery powered mechanism box and its associated gear are both plastic which concerns me a bit.The door opens and closes with ease and will hopefully help ensure the safety of our girls. Although our coops are inside a fully enclosed run so we have virtually no threat to our chickens.I like the look and functionality of these chicken coop doors. I just hope they hold up for awhile in the Arizona heat/sun. (We did install them on the shady side of our coops though, so maybe that will help).

I've been using this automatic chicken door a few weeks now. It was super easy to install and easy to program for auto opening. Works on all levels. I did set it up indoors for a few days to make absolutely sure it would function properly before actually using it outside. Happy with price & functionality. Would recommend to anyone.

Nice sturdy door, easy to use design, very good price. However all that doesn’t matter since door closes and opens on set programmed times only. There is no functionality option for dusk to dawn close and open. It gets dark at 5pm in January and 9pm in July. And all the time in between means it will need to be constantly adjusted throughout the season, or you could risk locking the chickens outside if it closes before dusk or the door not closing for several hours after dusk when predators start lurking. Raccoons, fox, coyote at our house are out at dusk. No matter the season. Disappointing lack of this integral safety feature. This is really too risky to use, and too much hassle to constantly adjust with the changing daylight patterns. Would not purchase again unfortunately. Disappointing because everything else about it is great. I would ensure the prospective door specifically states dusk to dawn operation before purchase.

Works perfect, easy to use, and set up, quieter than my last automatic chicken door, it doesn’t have a sunset sensor which I’m fine without it,I would bye this automatic chicken door again,Good value.

Water was able to access the battery compartment due to poor manufacturing and basically ruined this unit.

I have 2 of these already and bought this one for a family members coop. This is the new improved version from mine. Love that the battery access is right under that turn style knob.
