Rockland Melrose Upright Wheeled Underseater Carry-On Luggage, Black, 15-Inch

I just got back from 2 weeks all over UK. Planes, trains, busses and tubes. I was thinking about this old girl, and wondered if I ever wrote a review. I had not. This carryon has NEVER let me down. Its red in some light and kinda pink in others. This has been in steady use since April of 2022. The wheels still spin great, and given the use (all over Europe with old Roman roads, concrete, all types of roads and drug it through actual dirt), the wheels are still in pretty great shape. The zippers are all smooth and still perfect, not even a slight kink in the nylon. (I don't over fill, but its certainly snug). The inside is still pristine, no rips, tears, loose threads or even stretched pockets. I use this for the needed items like meds, a clothing change and basic hygiene stuff like the quart zip. Speaking of the quart zip, the second zip compartment is perfect for that, while the first is great for passport and such. Every time I have used this baby, I pack clothing flat to the back, I buy ceramic coffee cups (that's my fav souvenir) keep them wrapped up, put scarves or something between and on top, and yes, my old clunker laptop on top of all that. I have never broken a cup, or the laptop. The handle still slides perfectly. The strap used to stack on to another suitcase handle is in perfect condition, no rips or even loose threads. Several times, dozens in fact, I have grabbed the handle to this case, when stacked, causing the below case (or both) to crash and myself to look foolish. But this case holds up great. I take it on all trips as I am so accustomed to packing it, I know what it will hold, and where I put everything. Now, I will say this. The outside lower front, needs a light wash. I am not sure how to do that. Probably wipe with damp cloth, but if it wouldn't hurt it, a light steam clean is in order in a few spots. Given she was been to probably 12 countries or more, dozens of flights, dragged through cobbled streets older than Christ, and countless overnights, weekends and held all near and dear, if a light wash is all she needs, I call that amazing value. I am so glad I bought this tough little girl. I don't see it wearing out for many years to come. While the wheels are still good after all that, I can see they might need a refresh and they are easily replaced. But, for now, they will go another 4 or 5 years. If I wash it, I will spray a good water proofer, but really, probably I am the only one who sees the slight dirt spot. This case is worth 3 times what I paid, (which rhymes with sporty). This is a case that will easily last another 10 years, and if someone bought it new, it would last them 10 years with rough use, like me, or much much longer with light use. I have beaten it half to death and it won't wear out. Croatia twice, including Dubrovnik (google the steps) Split, Zagreb, Prague, Amsterdam, Montenegro, Dublin, Galway, Wales, London many times, Liverpool, Scotland, Edinburgh to the highlands, Bahamas several times, all over Mexico and countless domestic flights and weekend getaways, and so many cruises. If this died, I would repair it, or have it repaired if possible. As a very last resort, I would replace it. Its just been with me for so long and to so many places, and shared so many experiences, I really feel like its a friend. Best buy ever. And still looks really good. I will try to add pics

We purchased this for a convention we were going to, to help carry all the heavy paperwork and fun gadgets you get, but now I use it for ALL plane and train trips!! It's so convenient, rolls, and has many pockets to hold all the gear I need including a purse. You can also attach it on top of another luggage w/ the built in strap, making it very convenient to move around with.

I originally bought this as my "personal item"/purse replacement for a week long trip. I checked all the reviews to see if it would fit under the seat, and they said it would. Well, that was mostly true. Many of the reviews failed to mention the actual plane which would help actually determine whether it would fit. On an Airbus A321 (Delta), it will fit in the middle seat no problem. I put it in wheels first and handle first, and it fit nicely. It was a bit tight, but strategically packing crushable items on the side helped it fit no problem. It would not fit on the aisle seat wheels first or handle first. I did not try it walls first. On a 737-800/700 (SWA), I had the same outcome and did not try it walls first. It is a little heavy because of its construction, so it can cause your luggage to fall over (if you have an additional roller bag). But, it is spacious and I can fit a lot in it. I really like the clear pouch on the inside because I can stick all my work reimbursement receipts in there and it's easy access for my wallet.

I have been looking for a lightweight bag w/ wheels to replace a shoulder-strapped bag that I used to use as a carry-on in airports and cruises. Most ones w/ wheels I saw in stores were SO HEAVY, but this little gem is perfect! SUPER lightweight, has the strap that lets you attach it to your bigger luggage's pullout handle, and it has all kinds of pockets in it to put cell phone, laptop peripherals, clothes, beverage bottle, and even has a zippered section on the bottom (like most big suitcases) to put shoes or dirty clothes in. I chose the 16" versus the 15" hoping my 13" laptop would fit and it fit perfectly in one of the front zippered sections. It also has a handy small-zippered front section to place your travel documents in. This is a perfect thing for cruises because when you check in your main luggage, you can still bring a small carry- on to put swimsuit, pajamas and a change of clothes (in case they lose your luggage) along with your important things (meds, toothpaste/brush, cell + charger, etc). The only thing that is missing is a shoulder strap in case you have to carry it and not just by handles. Please add a shoulder strap accessory.

I use this for work, not travel. It gets a lot of use and although I am disappointed by the poorly-stitched zippers, the storage capacity is fabulous, the wheels and the handles are durable, and there are smaller compartments to keep things organized. Update: I'm upgrading this to 5 stars. I had no expectations for this item, but it has been with me every single day over uneven pavement, up and down curbs, in and out of tight spaces, and the wheels, extendable handle and structure of the item are all intact. This thing turned out to be a beast. It's durable, good-looking, and the perfect size for lunch and a change of clothes after work. The interior (all of the pockets, the mesh, and the lining) are still all in perfect condition. The outer surface gets a lot of use and still looks amazing. The carry handles are rugged and the extendable handle still works perfectly. All of the zippers are still smoothly working and intact. I will definitely purchase again in the future.

Perfect size bag for under the seat in airplanes. It rolls very nicely and it fits all my items. My only complaint is that one side of the iPad pocket zipper broke after only 2 flights. I still am able to use it though. There were other complaints about the zippers. I was hoping it wasn’t going to happen to mine. I love the color and will continue to use it.

Good quality, rolls easy, good size for carry on, fits underseat if not overpacked. Colour is more a mid grey with orange trim although picture looked a lot darker.

Pour petit voyage ou séjour plus long si possibilité de laver son linge. Plein de pochettes pour retrouver toutes ses affaires. Je suis satisfaite de son côté fonctionnel et pratique, de sa solidité. Ce petit sac/valise avec roulettes correspond à mes attentes. De plus il est joli, ce qui ne gâche rien. Je suis contente de mon achat.
