Effective Leather Colorant Kit
I cleaned a trace amount of splattered white paint drops from a leather chair arm & seat using saddle soap and a moistened microfiber cloth. It ended up removing some of the original leather coloring. I used this kit in an extremely sparing manner to blotch just enough coloring onto the faded areas so they blend in at a casual glance and only close inspection shows the fading and darker color touchup. Tested a drop of water first per instructions to make sure the leather finish was not absorbent. I used a cotton swab to apply just a small amount of balm to a dry microfiber cloth wrapped around my index finger, dabbed the cloth onto a paper towel till it left only a faint mark then lightly dabbed the faded areas of the leather with the cloth. Worked quite well. When I first did an inconspicuous hidden area of the back edge of the seat pillow, I dabbed the cotton swab directly onto the leather. Came out way too dark and showed the overlap of each dab. While that was still moist I dabbed the cloth onto the moist balm then dabbed that lightly onto the adjacent test area and saw I could get a very light covering just for blending purpose. The mink oil gives a very smooth glossy finish. Interested to see if that lasts or dries and needs to be repeated every so often. The balm did not rub off the test area as I applied the mink oil. I can't speak to coloring an entire piece with this kit. It has worked very well for cosmetic touchup of small faded areas.Update: used some saddle soap on a moist microfiber cloth intending to wear off the test spots & was surprised to see the balm & mink oil immediately rubbed right off. So this colorant is just a kind of temporary makeup for leather. Not surprising. Chemicals for making and coloring & preserving leather are really strong stuff. Will be careful to use only mink oil on the touched up areas and see if the balm lasts or wears off just from using the chair.

Works!
Did so much better than expected. Probably the best possible outcome. Badly scraped area on sofa from a cat is barely noticeable. Wasn't a perfect match but still did the job. Directions are vague. Basically, paint the stuff on the smooth down with spatula. Would buy again

Decent item
This product works decent but the color of your leather will change slightly

Easy to use.
This product has great coverage . I was pleased with the outcome, however the applicators leave a lot of room for improvement! The sponge applicator wasn't any bigger than a .50 piece and fell apart within 5 minutes. The soft cloth applicators , which I assumed were for the mink oil were way too small. They were the same size the sponge applicator.

Works well!
This product works very well, considering I don’t have any experience with leather repair! I have a cat that put claw marks all over my white leather sofa. I lived with the damage for several years, but one day, while watching tv, I decided to do something about it & found this product on Amazon. The instructions were easy to follow, & my sofa looks monumentally better now!!! I turned on a show on Netflix & in one evening fixed all of the torn up spots on the couch. The work blends in pretty well! If you are looking hard, you can see where there is a slight variation in color, but for the most part, it just looks so much better, overall. The kit does not come with a way to alter the tone of the white repair substance - this was the only setback. But I took the sponge & tried to blend the product in with the surrounding leather as much as possible. It certainly looks a lot better than it did! It was also a fun project, too.

Amazing Product!
I rarely leave reviews, but this product is truly amazing! Wish I had taken a “before” picture, but this chair was TRASHED — over 20 years old, and very faded and scratched up. We almost threw it out but as a last ditch effort I decided to try this kit. I have never refinished leather before and it was SO EASY!! I truly cannot believe how good the chair looks now.

NOT leather dye, will not soak in & recolor scratches & cracks
The colorant goo is water based paint, NOT DYE AS ADVERTISED!I wanted to hide scratches & fine cracks on my gray leather chair & couch, but all this does is sit on top. If you attempt to wipe off excess, it ALL comes off.I cannot vouch for the cleaner (I used Chemical Guys cleaner) or the mink oil conditioner (I used Leather Honey), so for me, this is USELESS.Returning for refund.Buyer beware!

Great kit
Surprising easy to use. I used it to color a purple leather bag to black. It was very effective with no staining or residual color coming off the leather. I only needed one coat but put two on just incase. The amount of product also goes a long way.
