As always uncomplicated, good read. Enjoyed it enormously. Plot is free-flowing and easy to read. A bit of humour we'll written

As ever, a very entertaining read. I enjoy all the Egyptian information and I'm sure Ms Peters goes for authenticity. Let's face it, few of us are in a position to check!

Hadn't read this book for some years, but enjoyed it just as much as the first time. Amelia Peabody has to be one of the great fictional characters. If you haven't read about her exploits yet, do try this book, you're in for a treat. Though I would also recommend reading "Crocodile on the Sandbank" first, in which Elizabeth Peters introduces Amelia and her future husband....wonderful!

This is one of a serise of books, with the main charactor Peabody. It is set i n Egypt from late 100 upto 1930's and involves all sort of adventures.I have read the paper edition now I am re-reading on e books.

Really good story, exiting and amusing

I love the Amelia Peabody series and have read quite a few. Recently I have been listening to them through Audible and really like the narrator used. I didn't check to see if it was the same narrator on this version (audible didn't have this book), I should have done, or at least tried to find a sample of the recording. The narrator really didn't work for me so I was disappointed in this purchase. This however is my opinion and not a reflection of the seller. Other people may find that the narrator does not bother them so much.

All of Elizabeth Peters books are good light reading .Entertaining, gripping in as much that you don't want to put it down !

Lion in the valley has been my forth one and it is gorgeous, a intriguing puzzle elegantly written.Ramses is an adorable person.My only concern is about Peabody's feeling as a mother I wish she could me a little bore sentimental.Can't wait to read the next one.
