Social Welfare Policy and Advocacy: Advancing Social Justice through 8 Policy Sectors

As a policy textbook, this is really easy to follow and comprehend. It's one of those textbooks that I actually kept after the class was over. I recommend it.

Jansson's book on Social Welfare and Policy is rigidly structured, and wonderfully consistent. This, of course, isn't how reality operates. But the eight sectors, the seven core principles, and the example lists of ethical dilemmas or policies that outright violate the social worker's concept of social justice, are all what make this book so great and really quite useful ... not just for in-class instruction, but for later reference, especially for the micro-SW who needs to dabble in mezzo/macro policy on occasion to help a client.
