Taste great!!
I love these as meal replacements. I’m trying to lose weight and they really help curb appetite, but also provide protein and nutrients. They taste amazing for a protein drink. I haven’t been through all the flavors yet, but so far all of them are great! I’ve also drank them in the past when I didn’t have time to eat. Same as above, they provided me the energy and nutrients that I needed.

So here is the total skinny...
This review is not just about that assortment but about this product which I have drunk a boatload of and I'm not done yet. I'LL TRY TO GIVE SOME PROS AND CONS and try not to insult either the product manufacturer or those of us who drink it and salute them. The whole line of this protein drink is very satisfactory, both nutritionally and more or less economically (OK, a little bit overpriced), but these assortments are always a crapshoot. You get what they say you will get, always, no shady substitutions where the "assortment of 12" is 11 of one kind and only one of another), but the R&D on creating these flavors is just plain whimsical. Some of the flavors are awesome (not awesome as in a milkshake made out of ice cream but awesome as in a protein or diet drink) and some of them are just weak, bland, watery, chemical-tasting and lame. But they are all good for your body: it is your mind that is either satisfied or not. Because of that, when I buy an assortment and I see I have gotten a disproportionate number of losers (according to my own flavor preferences, not that they are defective, and to another person my losers would be winners), I also buy a couple cases of one or two flavors that I know will be great, physically and mentally, which will get me through the ordeal of drinking the ones that are disappointing because they don't taste very much like what they say they are (or like much of anything else either. Blechhh.)Therefore, I wish every single flavor would be available by the case of at least 12, if not 15 or 18. Those 4-packs just don't do it if you are depending heavily in these for meals instead of snacks, and the markup on a 4-pack is out of line with the unit price when you buy a larger box, even if just 12. The 4-packs are good if you are just starting out testing how you do with the product and you want a good baseline without sinking a ton of money into it. Buy 4 chocolates and 4 vanillae. See what you think. Or if you only by them so you can take one with you on your rare visit to the gym or put it in your purse because you aren't going to have time for lunch, but you aren't eating these every day instead of real food fer eatin', yes, get a couple four packs, or else get a 12 pack and drink whatever you pick up in your hand when you reach in the box and be surprised. It's not life-changing the way it is to those of us who are substituting these for food and all the ritual and detail that go with eating food.I would love to have all these many flavors available in the cardboard cartons instead of the plastic bottles; some are not yet in cardboard cartons, but maybe down the line they're going to do that.) If possible, I would also have the cap/lid be made of something completely biodegradable, but that is not critical. The bottle being made of cardboard that flattens out is already a great accomplishment that puts this brand ahead of so many others with their silly thick plastic containers. No, however, that they sometimes give you a treat which is a little sleeve to put on the bottle to cover it up. Those things are... I don't have the words. Superfluous, I guess. I don't bother putting it on there. I have no reason to hide what my bottle says and if I can spend that time drinking my food, Why delay it by putting a sleeve on it which basically only advertises where I bought it, then I have to take the sleeve off and flatten out the bottle that I have just sucked dry. thanks anyway. And finally, since they are all 160 calories regardless of the flavor, I would rather have a little bit more product in the bottle and have it be a 200-calorie drink/meal, no change in the formulation but just a little bit more to chug. If they increased the size that way and gave you 40 more calories, or another 25% by volume, I would be at peace with the price as it is now which is $3 and change per serving. That sounds really extravagant if you're used to mixing it up out of the bulk powder. Or if like me you are poor. The powder definitely is way cheaper. But it's not convenient, it's not absolutely certain as to quantity you're Scooping and the calories you're consuming, and if you want to get the flavor variety that you are getting from the drinks that are pre-made, you're going to have to do a lot of experimentation with flavorings that you add, maybe more sweetener, etc. Not to mention you have to wash the blender or the jar you shook it up in because stirring it with the spoon DOES. NOT. WORK. with that powder. Lump City. Just sayingThis has basically been my review for any configuration of these protein drinks, not just this seller or this assortment. I think they're quite good and definitely a lot better than a lot of the alternatives I have tried. The drinks put the more economical tubs of powdered Premier Protein to shame. They are also well blended when you get them, and if you just shake the bottle a couple times, for luck or out of habit, you do not encounter any clumps and there is nothing gummy or gritty in the bottom that you have to suck out at the end, ruining the whole experience.I like the versatility of some of the flavors that can be used as coffee creamers (think of which flavored coffee creamers are on the market and then try to match the these drinks to them), or for making a smoothie with fruit, or pouring it over ice cubes or buzzing it with a stick blender like a frappe without any more calories. Several of the flavors are also good and relaxing if you microwave them in a mug and drink them like hot cocoa. This is good also if you want to drink them at work and you don't want everybody quizzing you about what you're drinking; all they assume it's coffee. However, heating up the ones that are already bland and low on taste eliminates any remaining flavor and they are just wet. And if you heat any flavor, don't take too long drinking it, because it will get a skin, which is uncool and a waste of your food.I almost forgot to mention that although these are quite shelf stable until you open them, and therefore they are excellent for putting aside for preparedness issues, or just keeping a couple in your car and forgetting you have them until you need them, definitely do not let them sit once you open them. I did that with one that was in my car for a couple days. I would not normally have wasted one on an experiment but I forgot it was in there. Then when I remembered a couple days later, I decided I wasn't going to drink it regardless but I was curious to see what would happen to it without being refrigerated. It was by far the most foul and repugnant smelling substance I have ever smelled in my life and I have eight cats so I set the bar high. Under no circumstances should you open it and then fail to refrigerate it if you don't drink the whole bottle. That's all I'll say about that. There used to be two diet and protein drinks I bought in bulk at a certain warehouse membership club and they were both great. I can't remember the name of one of them, and this was the other one. This one was slightly more expensive but the other one did not come in as many varieties and you had to doctor them up with extracts and flavorings. Comparing protein, fat and calories, they were both basically the same. I wish I could remember the name of the other one. I know I would recognize it if I saw it on Amazon and it is not here. I was happy with either of them, but if Amazon is only carrying one of those two, I think I'm probably glad they have this one instead of the other one.It is hard to find a good protein drink or powder because they are all just a little tiny bit different from each other in terms of grams protein, fat, carbs, the vitamins, whether it is whey or soy, lumpy or smooth, the fiber floats or the fiber sits at the bottom of the bottle no matter what you do, whether they have a lot of artificial sweeteners you don't want, and if they are supposed to do anything special for you like give you energy. You can spend a lot of money trying out a lot of different products and still not be able to figure out which one is the right one for you. Unless you're on a very low calorie diet like HMR, or you are lactose intolerant or have some conscientious objection to consuming dairy or are allergic to gluten, all else being equal, I think you can save yourself a lot of confusion and wasted money if you just buy this brand, figure out which flavors of it you like, buy assortments that feature those (or single cases of one sure-thing flavor if they make it by the case, and don't worry about it.Hope this is helpful in some small way. The limited edition salted caramel popcorn is definitely the best and it has been discontinued. Of course it has.
