Good flavor

Was worried that this was going to be toooo hot. But it is quite mild - you see the bright red oil and you think it’s going to be a scorcher. It adds a bit of flavor to dishes and my ramen but not overpowering. I’m not a heat seaker but I could use a bit more heat with this oil.

This is a very pure chili oil. There is no salty or and other flavors in this. I really appreciate it. Because it will be much easier to control the sodium of the dish.The over all taste is not as spicy as expected to me. But I like the freshness of the oil. I had bad experience using other brand’s chili oil, the oil has a wired after taste. So freshness is my most important standard judging a good chili oil or not. I hope someday they will come up with a lager bottle size. 7.1 oz is too small for me to use, only be good cooking several dishes.

The flavor of this Chili Oil is not what I was hoping for. Not the worst, but not really tasty.The pour spout is a hugh opening and comes flooding out! Not good for a chili oil!

This NPG Szechuan Chili Oil is a easy way to add some spicy kicks to your dish. The bottle contains total 7.1oz. Since chili oil is usually used as part of dipping sauce or finishing oil, every time when you use, you only need a few drops. So I would say 7.1oz is still a decent amount.The chili oil has a reddish color and the moment I opened the cap, I can right away smell the chill pepper's aroma. I made myself a simple wanton soup and added a few drops of this chili oil at the end to bring some extra spicy kicks to my soup. The result turned out well. It adds a fun and spicy flavor to my soup and definitely makes my soup more tasty. There is no salt in this chili oil, so it won't make your dish extra salty. The heat level of this chili oil is medium, I would highly recommend starting with small amount because I definitely can feel that heat in my big bowl of soup even with a few drops. If you need more, you can always add more, try and taste to find the best amount that fits your preference.Overall, I personally like this oil a lot, I think it is a nice pantry staple.

This chili oil is definitely mild. It has a good, mild flavor that adds a little something extra. I tasted it plain as well as mixed into soy sauce as a dipping sauce for lumpia.
