Dust Barrier - Plastic Zipper Door Dust Protection Kit - Construction Door Cover with Zipper Magnect for Room Remodel, Fit Standard Doorway 4'W x 7.5'H (4' x 7.5')

We went through a basement remodel and I wanted to make sure that our storage items were protected from six months of dust, debris and paint while still allowing access. Our situation was difficult because we had no door to attach a plastic door to and we had a specific area only that we could place a plastic door. We preferred a magnetic closing option instead of zipper due to the frequency we would be in and out of the space.After a lot of research we settled on the Pick for Life dust door as with its 4' x 7.5" size and magnetic closing seemed like the best option and it fit our needs perfectly. Since we had no where to mount it to we pressure mounted some boards up to the floor joist and attached the door to it using the supplied tape and pins. We then used greenhouse plastic and tape to seal all the edges next to it to create a full dustproof wall. This worked really well to keep drywall dust and paint stray out and the door held up through hundreds of openings and closings over that time.Plusses- Different size options- Good weight plastic and well built with good edge stitching to put the pins into- Included tape was high quality and the pins did help with mounting- When closed properly the magnetic closure did not allow any dust or spray through- Was easy to remove when done. Removing the pins was the hardest part- A bit pricey for what it is but much cheaper than the name brand plastic wall solutions.Minuses- While the magnetic closure closed properly and was easy to use, you do have to make sure it closes all the way down to prevent dust from entering. The only time anything entered the other space was when a contractor didn't close it all the way.- Was a bit tricky to install with one person. I'd recommend two people to make it faster and easier as it has some weight to it. The easiest way to install it by myself I found was to temp mount it in place with small pieces of tape and then do a final taping and pinning after.

Wow, I will NEVER have construction done on my house without this again! My contractor had put up really flimsy plastic, and I've used heavier plastic in the past, but it almost always falls down, or blows around and lets dust in. THIS was amazing!!!! It came with tacks to help keep the pressure off of the tape so it did NOT fall down. The magnets held the open closed so well that it kept dust out, and it easily let me in and out of the bathroom when needed, or in the evening when the construction was not happening so we could shower, brush teeth, and whatever else. This was about $30 and was worth every penny!!!

This worked great when I was renovated my living room. It not only kept out the dust , but when it came time to paint it kept out the smell from the drying paint. Easy to install and even comes with tape to secure it to the moulding around the entry. Good weight to the plastic and the magnet closure was great.

Wish I would’ve taken a photo while it was up. This was absolutely amazing for keeping dust out of our bedroom while we were renovating the master bathroom. The flaps have kind of a magnetic edge on them that brings them back together and sealed every time you walk through them. Would definitely purchase again if we do another Reno project.

Nice and would have given five stars but it is a little heavy. This may be a selling point for some people and for me it took a lot of tape and thumbtacks to get and keep this up.I used a cheaper, non magnetic one on a less used door and preferred it.The magnetic door is really great if you will be going in and out - we used for kitchen demo and this was a good choice.

If you do home renovations, this is a must. Makes sealing off a room so easy. Should have bought this 20 years ago!

Worked great, did not affect wall paper when removed. Great just to be able to walk thru and let it close itself

These are the best!!! We just purchased a couple of these and it’s great to keep the dust down throughout our house while doing a kitchen remodel. Easy to put up with the painters tape ( holds enough if you don’t want to nail to the wall) as we’ve been removing during cleanup.I’d highly recommend these as the magnetic door is fabulous to be able to walk through. We should have used these for other remodel projects. You’ll love these! 😊
