Hi first time since bought it can’t get bike rack to drop to get into boot lifted safety catch pulled lever under number plate but will not move?

Test the mechanism before you try with bikes attached. It tilts down, it does not drop down. If mechanism is stiff try some light lubrication but keep lubrication clear of the ball clamp. The release lever is quite firm to operate, with bikes in place try moving the tilting part of the frame by pulling on the bikes, it is designed to be balanced so the bikes don't tilt down too heavily. if none of this works get the assistance of someone to try tilting the bikes as you operate the release lever, wear gloves to get a stronger pull on the lever if needed.
