RockyMounts Monorail 2-Bike Platform

This mount was fairly easy to install. The whole thing took about 30 minutes. I’ve used it for my Trek Marlin mountain bike and my road bikes with no issues at all. I will add that I would be careful if you have a bike that has fenders as the “hook” that hold the front wheel of the bike needs to be close to the front fork (within a few inches). Also, if you have a vehicle with sensitive parking sensors, you may have to adjust them manually so they don’t constantly detect an object behind you.

This works perfect if you own a smaller vehicle, easy to load and sturdy, within budget as well when compared to other bike carriers. Note the only downfall is security. The locking system does not make a tough deterrent.

VERY STURDY BIKE RACK. EASY TO LOWER AND RAISE.

Item was very well packaged for a 40lb box. No holes poked on the sides and everything was well separated inside the box. A little assembly required but it didn’t take long and simple to follow instructions. The rack itself is very sturdy, bikes were easy to put on and off. A good choice!! This rack was very well rated and the least expensive compared to Thule and Yakima which I’ve always used. Hopefully will hold up!!???

This platform bike rack is sturdy, solid and secure. It comes with all the parts and tools, except a screw driver, that you need to assemble it. The clear directions make assembly a snap. Screwing the bolts into the nylon lock-nuts takes some effort but once it's tight it's secure. I can lift my bike easily on the rack which is only about a foot off the ground. The front wheel slides right into the boot and the sturdy lock-bar holds the front wheel in place. The back wheel is locked in by an easy to use adjustable strap. My road test with two bikes mounted proved how sturdy and secure this rack is. The bikes didn't sway, jiggle or bounce regardless of road construction in some places. All in all, I highly recommend this Rocky Mounts Monorail system.

Once you see a picture of the finished product online, this rack is simple to put together. And it is rock solid, and so easy to use! I love that part of it. Bikes are easy to load and secure, and the tilt away feature is a cinch to operate. I am very happy with my purchase!

The bike rack was relatively easy to assemble. I recommend watching the assembly video online before putting the rack together. There are a few subtle things in the video that are not completely obvious in the instructions. I switched to a wheel supported rack to take the weight off the cross bar while traveling and I am not disappointed.
