I used the LSW guide by Dawn Apgar when studying for my initial LSW license. Her content follows the ASWB outline perfectly and I passed with flying colors. I hope to pass my future LCSW exam in the same manner using this text to assist my studying.

I spent 2 hours nightly studying from this manual for about 5 months and knocked the test out of the park! I scored a 124 when I only needed a 105. This is an indispensable tool when preparing for your LCSW exam.

This is my 2nd time purchasing her book. I used her old book back in 2016 for the LMSW. This time you get access to examprepconnect for 6 months and live monthly sessions. They are all great. Since her products are geared towards the current ASWB exam , and I plan to take the new exam in 2026. I don’t spend a lot of time like I used to studying her materials. Therefore I started investing in other exam materials that will prepare me for 2026.

The book came brand new, was able to set up the extra online question account. Great material I love that there are questions after each section that you study to help you retain the information.

I used the other one from Apgar to study for my LMSW-cc exam and passed. I’m expecting the same for my LCSW exam. If I don’t pass it will not be the book’s fault. I have noticed some subject matter being repeated but assume that is because it may be on this exam also.

Lots of great information, but also a ton of typos in the practice exam. For example, one question asks "Based on the prescription, which of the following is most likely the client's diagnosis" but doesn't actually list a prescription...
