I'd give it 5 stars but it seems to require a warm up in your mouth <first> to give an accurate reading. It gives results so fast I was skeptical, so I compared the results with my older one that takes much longer to register a reading and the initial readings are always a few points lower, but after a warm up the results are the same... so if you want an accurate reading, let it warm up under your tongue before pressing the button

I bought 2 of these. One died very quickly and I can't figure out how to remove the battery and put in a new one. Maybe it's possible, but the battery seems very stuck in there and I can't get it out. I realized today, after comparing my consistent normal temperature readings while sick to the fever I found that I had after having my temperature taken at the doctor's office, that this thermometer is 2 degrees or more off from being accurate, which makes it completely useless.

I lost my thermometer, just when a member the family was getting sick. I ordered this and Amazon delivered it quickly. Meanwhile, I found an old thermometer, but it was giving inconsistent readings…probably a dying battery. This thermostat arrived and I could tell the doctor confidently that we were dealing with a low fever.
