Medicated Shampoo 8oz - 5% Coal Tar

I’ve ordered from them twice. The shipping was fast. The product works well for me. As long as it keeps working on my scalp psoriasis, I’ll keep on ordering. The smell of the shampoo is not bad. Even if it was, I’d still use it because it works good.

Folks, this is an EXCELLENT shampoo for those like me who suffer from one or more of the following symptoms: Seborrheic dermatitis, red inflamed scalp, scaling, sensitive scalp that's allergic to certain ingredients in the shampoo, and/or mild to severe dandruff. This shampoo is well formulated: it uses the ammonium instead of sodium variation of sulphates. Ammonium is gentler on the scalp than sodium is. In addition, it has NO artificial fragrance and uses minimal ingredients. It lathers well and rinses off well. Does it smell of Tar? Yes, it does, but Tar is needed to fix the issues in your scalp, so why make it a big deal? No other OTC Tar shampoo works for me except this one. I add a drop of Rosemary oil in the shampoo and that hides the tar smell. Deal with the smell of Tar, but don't walk away from this shampoo just because of that: the benefits far outweigh the one, IMHO, minor disadvantage. One final point: I rotate between this shampoo and Nizoral (2 days followed by 1 day, respectively) to reduce my exposure to Tar. Overall, an excellent product. Try it for 2 weeks without questioning...if it helps you, stick with it.

This stuff is literally magic and life changing. They closed their business for a bit and NOTHING else works, I seriously was so ecstatic when I saw that they were back in business and rebranded.

I was so excited to see this product available again! Here is to hoping it’s as good as the original! The original was the only product that ever cleared my scalp issues. I went ahead and got 2 just in case!

Used shampoo for a few weeks. It does the job, BUT BEWARE that when you stand the tube up it can leak onto your shower shelf and stain it. This shampoo in a tube is so liquady it pours out and all over. In a tube, I didn't expect it to pour out so thin and freely, was expecting it to be more solid like. Will I purchase again....NO! It has ruined my shower with stains, even when I stand it with the cap upright. It needs to be thicker in a tube, don't know why it wasn't in a bottle.Not worth the mess it makes.

I used a product called Pentax for my seborrheic dermatitis for years. It too had 5% coal tar not .5 as others try to sell. They quit making Pentax and I suffered for years until I found PsoriaTrax on Amazon. Used it gratefully for several years until it was not available. Sufffered again for 5 years until now. So happy to be able to buy this product because it is the MOST effective shampoo for my condition on the market.. anywhere. Believe me I have tried everything. Don’t waste your money on something else that doesn’t work. YES it has an odor, yes UV’s will sunburn your skin if you expose too soon after using the product. Protect your skin from the sun and follow up your shampoo with your favorite over the counter good smelling shampoo to minimize the after smell. It’s all worth it if you suffer from these skin diseases. Thank you PDU Inc. for making this available again. Don’t wait 5 years to reformulate again or at least give us a chance to stock up. This is our medicine.

I'm glad to see PsoriaTrax back on Amazon. I had bought a 3 pack of 12 oz bottles in 2018 and I've ran out and they sold out and I've been searching for an alternative to no avail. I was using Denorex therapeutic but they went from 3% to 1.8%, to now it no longer has coal tar unless you can find some old stock on a shelf somewhere.Btw, PsoriaTrax is strong so I only use it for a week every month or two in rotation with other dandruff shampoo, nor do I use it in the summer if I will be out in the sun.Back story:I have stubborn dandruff that is hard to keep under control and PsoriaTrax does the job to knock down the worst flare ups.There are 4 most common types (active ingredients, not brands) of Dandruff shampoo. They are Pyrithione zinc, Selenium sulfide, Coal tar, and Salicylic acid, and Salicylic acid doesn't do much for me, in fact it seems to increase flaking. I rotate types because my dandruff seems to get immunity after several months if I only use one type.Pyrithione zinc is my base shampoo cuz its cheapest in giant bottles at a wearhouse store and effective for the most part. Then after P-zinc for a month I'll switch to Selenium sulfide for a week or two, or once in a while Coal tar. BUT...For those times when I get a bad case like the time I went to a big chain hair salon and the girl didn't have her comb in sterilizing solution. Now Idk if it was the unsterile comb or how much she scratched my head with it while cutting my hair, but I got an itchy flare up that didn't go away for two months no matter what I tried. Thats was in 2018, so then I was desperately searching for a solution and that's when I found PsoriaTrax and gave it a try, it got my itching down to a tolerable level with the first wash and totally under control by the 3rd day.PsoriaTrax I hope you're reading this. I need you on my shelf in case of such emergencies, at all times!

I’ve tried them all, and this is what works.I used this years ago and then couldn’t find it for a while. During that time, my scalp got worse and worse while I tried numerous shampoos on the market. The itching was driving me crazy, the flakes were getting thicker and I was losing hair in the worst spots. I even tried prescriptions . I discovered this again and it all cleared up in weeks.The scent is strong and not overly pleasant, but I’m telling you, it is so worth it if you are really bad off. Works so well. I’m so grateful this is available.
