I love oysters, and I don't care for shucking oysters. Living in the Pacific Northwest as I do, it's fairly easy to get a bucket of oysters. And while I love the easiest way of eating oysters - simply drop them on the grill and let them cook in their own delicious juices, no shucking required - there are lots of other ways I love to eat oysters that require shucking.This basic kit gives you a lot of what you need to get the job done. The kit includes to oyster shucking knives and two sets of shucking gloves.On the plus side, the gloves are more than mere mittens - they are of a someone rigid material that provides protection both against the rough oyster shell and also a slipped shucking knife to the palm. These are not chainmail gloves, so you can still hurt yourself, but they make it a lot easier than using your bare hands or holding a towel in your hand while shucking. The gloves are of the same size and fit normal-sized hands - Shaquille O'Neal likely would not be able to wear these gloves.The knives are OK, with a nice blade attached to a wooden handle. There is nothing wrong with these knives, but I have to admit that I prefer my shucking knife that has a black rubber handle because the wooden handle can get a bit slick when wet. It's not a bad product, but I believe there are better options out there on the market. However, this isn't the most expensive kit you'll buy, so it is a fine value for the money.Recommended.

Great product

So first the gloves - as noted in other comments, the 2 pairs of gloves come in 2 sizes. The smaller size is for a very small hand - I have small hands and they were uncomfortably tight. The other pair of gloves probably would not fit a large hand. The gloves do what is intended - protect the hands - as I can attest to during my oyster shucking experience. Regarding the shucking knives - they are small with short handles and blades which I found difficult to grip and to insert between the oyster shells to pry it open; I also quickly bent the metal guard, so cheaply made. Not sure I would recommend, but the set is relatively inexpensive so do not expect it to last.

Broke the first time I used it and stabbed my self too. The knife came out if the oyster handle and had a hard time getting out of the shell. The second knifes tip broke the door off. My son threw the package away or I would have returned it.

This is an Oyster Shucking Knife Set that I received & wanted to share my experiences with. It appears to be well made with stainless steel blades & wooden handles. There are also two pairs of guard gloves that are included. Unfortunately, the gloves do Not fit me well. I have a bit larger than the average women’s hand with long fingers. I’m 6’1”. The gloves are tight on my skinny fingers & aren’t long enough. This causes the web effect, which I really hate tbh. The webbing is anywhere from a centimeter to 1/2 inch between my fingers. If it wasn’t for this, I would give it 5 stars especially at less than $10 plus a current 10% off coupon. That being said, I’ve given it a 3.5 due to the gloves(plz note that I always round up, thus the 4 stars).❤️‍🔥Shalom…

I love oyster and these helped protect my hands . The knife, though sharp, didn't do a great job and shucking however. I wear medium sized gloves and these were a perfect fit. Over all great value
