I liked the idea of attaching the dog's seatbelt to the child restraint clips vs the type that snaps into the seatbelt or the older one I had which the seatbelt looped through. This seems stronger and gives the dogs a little room to turn and move to get comfortable. The only issue I have, and I might be my older vehicle, is that the hook intended to snap onto the restraint clip doesn't snap close. It is either too small or my restraint clip is too thick. I have simply switched the latches, and what was intended to hook onto the harness, I clip onto the car and the part that was supposed to clip onto the car, I clip onto the harness. That has worked so far.

I had been tying a leash through the car seat/latch anchor but our new dog (4 year old mixed breed,about 45 pounds) chewed through it. I needed him restrained for his own safety as well as ours since he climbs around and falls off the seat. He hasn't chewed this and he can move around but not climb into the front seat. I use this with a harness because I don't think it would be safe in an accident if only used with a collar.

I recently got a lab mix that will rush through any door, including car door if you open them. So for his safety I got him a harness and seat belt for my jeep. I have an older model jeep that many child proof seat belt covers are not compatible with and does not have the cargo strap bits that these are designed to clip to, but I was still able to find a spot under my back seat that I could attach it to, so you can't even see where it's coming from by looking at it. These are great and worked really well, so I got 2 more for my two female labs as well. They are close enough to tangle though with multiple dogs moving and swapping spots during the drive, but untangle quite easily as well.

I have never purchased (or known anyone to purchase) a “seatbelt” for their dog, so I was unsure about the proper type or size to get. This item is perfect for a dog who chews, a dog who is smart and can unbuckle a regular seatbelt buckle, or a dog who gets into mischief in the car. I feel at ease knowing my dog is restrained and safe in case of an accident or if left in the car alone for a short time. Best purchase I have made ever for my dogs safety.

I bought this to be the last 2 feet of my dog leash. She loves to chew on leashes and this has done a fantastic job. I also use just this when walking from the car to the pet store and I don't need the bulk of a full leash system.

Works like a charm! Unless your big dog is Houdini and no matter how secure all the tethers are to her harness and truck seatbelts, she still somehow escapes her harness... but hey... the harness stayed put! My dog, however, ended up in the floorboard having a panic attack...

I highly recommend using a hacksaw to remove the included clips and buying a couple of locking carabiners and a swiveling bull snap to use instead. The hardware included does feel very flimsy. To me it is still worth the price for the cable because it is made well and will last a long time!

This is perfect for taking my little maltipoo places in the car. She tends to chew on leashes, etc, so this is great. I attach it to her harness and she's safely contained in the car. It's much better than having to take her crate everywhere when we go somewhere.
