Zyxel 5G NR Portable Router | WiFi 6 high-speed broadband | Compact design [NR2301]

Fantastic affordable 5G router. Works great with a three pay as you go sim perfectly. It's a nice looking device too, routers are often pretty ugly things. It was easy to setup, and has straight forward settings in a clear menu when accessed via the typical default address.

Absolutely brilliant. I live in a static caravan and with a Tesco unlimited SIM card I’ve got good reliable internet for all our devices, including Alexa, fire sticks, phones and more. Easy to set up even for a 60 yr old! Glad I spent the extra few quid on it.

Feel free to remove all of my feedback regarding this transaction and act like everything is fine. But as a member of the community and someone who paid for the advertised product, I expected to receive what I paid for— not to be misled. Good day

Amazingly fast 5g connection. I get near to 200mbps on EE with it. Easy to manage with the web portal nebula. Its built well and looks good. The options available for configuration are all you would expect and more. Very happy with this router, its now running my whole house at a faster speed and far cheaper than my old fixed broadband line.

Please be aware this is NOT the Nebula FWA505. It’s actually a NR5103EV2 running alternative firmware, you won’t be able to add this to Nebula nor Zyxel Air. I confirmed this by speaking to Zyxel directly. This unit has been modified to run FWA505 firmware in a NR5103EV2 unit. Unit itself is a decent unit, picked up 5G on EE straight away and was quick for browsing etc. Signal strength on its internal antenna was just as expected and matched my phones own signal. Set up was easy using the wizard but you can do more in-depth setup in the web GUI. Biggest advantage is it automatically picked up the APN settings. Other units I’ve had, have always had to manually have the EE APN added manually. The item arrived marked on three sides and in just bubble wrap and a grey courier bag. No box! But was described as “used - like new” - for the money I paid, I expected better from the description given. This definitely isn’t “like new” at all.

Happy with the purchase — getting 550+ Mbps download speeds on iD Mobile. Let’s see how it performs over the coming days.

This so far has been an amazing upgrade for us! We live far away from any decent signal and this has definitely boosted what we had. Was getting around 10mb max and now getting around 70-80mb. I did buy an external antenna though which helped a lot.

Very happy with the performance achieved with this Zyxel FWA505, the user interface can be reached with 192.168.1.1, the user interface has lots of features, allow dual band, allow guest network. so much, I have used, ZTE 5G routers but this one has so much features, I will now only use ZYXEL, forget about DECO 5G (each is rubbish and very limited) if you want top 5G router go for ZYXEL you will not forget, it took me multiple attempts with different brands, but this one has everything needed to obtain the best signal either indoor router or the outdoor if u which the top of the top.

Achieved download speed of 330mps on vodafone whilst in the middle of nowhere high in the sierra tejada gets my vote. Some setting up required ie: find the APN for your sim card and enter the correct details the app is simple enough to use so yes a good buy

Premessa: Vivo in una cittadina del nord-est in una zona non servita dalla fibra. Da un paio di anni ho risolto il problema della linea fissa con un modem-router munito di sim dati Iliad (consultando il sito lteitaly risultava l’operatore più performante nella mia zona). Con la dipartita del mio vecchio router 4g huawei b636 necessitavo un nuovo router. Così ho deciso di cogliere l’occasione per passare al 5g. Ho mantenuto la precedente offerta dati mobile iliad (che prevedeva già la connessione 5g che io purtroppo con il vecchio router non sfruttavo). Rispetto al mio precedente router noto un bel salto di qualità. La velocità di connessione è raddoppiata (da 20-30mb/s in download a 50-60mb/s con picchi di 90mb/s). Anche la qualità in casa del segnale Wi-Fi è migliore, prima avevo qualche problema di ricezione del segnale Wi-Fi nelle stanze più lontane dal modem, adesso no. L’unico passo indietro rispetto al mio vecchio router è stata l’impostazione apn (huawei individuava automaticamente le impostazioni, lo zyxel necessita di una configurazione manuale). Unica nota dolente il prezzo di 180€. È una bella spesa che nel mio caso si giustifica visti i benefici. Per altri potrebbe non essere così giustificata. Credo sia una ottima alternativa alle linee fisse tradizionali per chi non ha grandi esigenze di connessione. Il prezzo alto del router in realtà si ripaga piuttosto velocemente contando che esistono operatori che con meno di 10€ al mese vi offrono tanti giga in 5g, andando così a risparmiare anche 15-20€ al mese rispetto ad una connessione fissa tradizionale.
