CliffsNotes AP World History Cram Plan

As an AP World History teacher and Reader for the exam I can tell ya, this book is AMAZING. The content is directly aligned with the newly updated Key Concepts. My students know all the information they need to do well. It's also written in kid-friendly vocabulary, which helps them retain the information and enjoy reading it. I mean, come on, Star Wars references are always a big win with my AP students. The writing rubrics and tips are updated with our exam, and are very helpful for my students. I know James is a Table Leader at the AP Exam, and this book clearly demonstrates his mastery over how the writing component of the exam. It also is easily understood by my students. All of my students who have used this book really love it. I can't recommend it highly enough. I will recommend this book to any and every AP World History student.

Greatly detailed AP World History prep book! Unlike other prep books (like Barron's or Princeton Review) this prep book organizes the content in each chapter/each time period by theme and key concepts, and is pretty straightforward and easy to read! Each chapter has a great balance of test-taking tips as well as the nitty gritty of what students REALLY need to know for test. Probably my favorite thing about this prep book is that there are several stimulus- based multiple choice questions, SAQs, and LEQ/DBQ prompts for each time period, as well as a full-length practice & diagnostic exam. It also provides great examples of responses for the writing portion (something the other prep books don't adequately provide).I do think there are some sections of the book that are a bit wordy, like the test-taking strategies and intro, and I doubt my students will really invest in reading it all, but otherwise I think this is a very cost-effective and high quality prep book.

Over the last several years of teaching AP World history, I have always struggled finding a really good study guide book that I am comfortable with. When I ran across this book, I was surprised at the detail it went into with the content, multiple choice questions and writing prompts. It is updated with the latest exam changes that came down from College Board during the summer of 2017. One of the biggest advantages this book has over other review books is that it gives examples of the essays. I have found this very helpful in teaching writing in AP World History. Students learn by reading and reviewing good writing and this book will be sooo helpful. I am recommending this book for all of my students this year!!!!
