not quite what I think of as a "bodycon"

I like this dress, but other than the color, it is not at all how I was thinking it would be when I ordered it. I have a few bodycon dresses and they all hug my body, this dress feels more like it caresses. perhaps it is because I expected it to be a thicker material? I love that it is cotton, I always prefer natural materials over synthetics, but I guess the way to explain the feeling of this dress would be that I was expecting a heavyweight cotton shirt and got a mid-weight one instead. It still feels good, but it clings and doesn't hide a thing. I am 5'3" tall and my measurements are 37/28/42 for reference. I also think that the length (on me) is too long and maybe right above the knees would make it better.
