These earcups like all of the leather/plastic-leather headphones change the sound slightly. The leather reflects sounds that the OEM apple ones absorb. This causes some strange echoing and noise and it bothered me enough to consider returning them.I then remembered that the BOSE QC35's i had previously had HOLES in the lambskin/leather around the inner side of the ear cups near your ear. And my theory was that those were to stop those little echos. I bought a small leather hole punch and punched a bunch of holes around the inside of the earcups and it totally fixed the echoing.I'll give these 3 stars because i really like the leather and the build, but the lack of the little sound holes means they do not work at least as good as the OEMs without modifications.

These could have been so much better. For my Focal headphones I ordered lamb skin earpads, and they are more than five times as thick and present a much better-quality product. I am saying it is not that lamb leather is thin, it is that this leather is thin because it is cheap.This leather does not have the greatest padding under it, so the noise cancellation is okay, but not as good as with the Apple Ear Pads. The bass is okay, at least as okay as the highly technical sound of these headphones allows. Again, there is a slight improvement with the Apple Ear Pads, but it is only detectable to someone who has a very distinguishing ear.The one advantage to the lack of padding, which is as good as Apple's, is that if you wear glasses then it is much more comfortable with these, because they do not squeeze as much.They do handle sweat better than the original earpads which just absorb it and stink. They are a far better option than adding a protector for your earpads, so if that is your other option buy these. Just be prepared for the fact that they are cheap, even though they are expensive for what they are.

This is very comfortable. I have not noticed much difference between this and the original. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

I wanted to love them! Soft material (lambskin) was appealing to me but I simply could not forgive the obvious degradation in sound quality and noticeable loss of sound cancellation. I returned them immediately and would hope this review is helpful. They fit well and they are quite comfy if you don't mind a noticeable loos in sound quality. Sadly, Apple wins this time!

Before I had my AirPods Max I was using Bose headphones and they always come with really nice lambskin ear cups. When I got my APM I wanted to like them so bad but the ear cups they come with get uncomfortable and trap heat. The majority of people love the ear cups the APM come with but I just couldn’t get use to them. I found these ear cups and they are exactly what I needed. They might not be built to the standard of the OEM ear cups but they are super comfortable and fit perfectly, but most importantly make my Airpods Max useable.
