I've been consistently impressed with this TARO Adapalene Gel. As a USP-grade product, the quality is excellent—it has a light, non-greasy texture that absorbs well and is formulated without parabens, which is a big plus for my skincare routine. I have something called follicular keratosis. I have been misdiagnosed a bunch and finally got some answers. I was dealing with an over production of Keratin on my face, hands and neck, causing keratin beads to form and clog my pores. So many were forming, it caused my face to ulcer because these beads were trying to find a way to escape. I have spent the year trying to treat my keratosis but did not succeed. After some extensive research, I read that retinoid is effective in treating this because it balances out the skins keratin levels and exfoliates out excessive keratinand other debris. I started my new journey only 6 weeks ago. I exfoliate my face 2x a day with acidic wash (AHA, BHA & PHA) and at night I use a hydrating wash and follow it up with this retinoid acne treatment. This treatment is how my doctor and I discovered what I had. The exfoliating is important to maintain the pH levels of my skin and get rid of any excess keratin on my skin. This treatment has not irritated my face, made it dry, red, nothing. I was on tretinoin before this. This is the most gentle and effective treatment I have tried, to date. If you are worried about this working, take my before and after pictures as proof that this is a highly effective treatment. Adapalene works slower than trerinoin but I'll take whatever time necessary to treat my skin. The difference it has already made has brought me my confidence back.

I like how readily the gel absorbs without leaving a greasy layer on top of my skin. I have an oily t-zone so the last thing I need is more oil. This is an economical way to control acne that won't bleach your clothing, like benzoyl peroxide. According to Grok, adapalene can also minimize fine lines. I am middle aged, so this is a bonus. I still keep it off my neck because I get a red rash at the base of my neck if I'm not careful. Prior to applying this gel, I put on a layer of moisturizer on this sensitive area and let it dry before applying adapalene. Some will always migrate, so be careful on your sensitive spots. I read that adapalene can be used during the day because it doesn't break down readily under sunlight like tretinoin does.

My daughter has been using this Gel for acne, and it has helped improve her skin. It’s affordable and easy to incorporate into her routine, which is a big plus. Like most acne treatments, it can be a little drying, but that’s expected and manageable with a good moisturizer. Overall, it’s been effective for her and seems like a solid option for anyone looking for an affordable acne treatment.

If you can make it past the 1-3 month purge period, you will be so thankful you began. After a month I saw a huge difference and after 3 months I can say my acne is pretty much gone. Every now and then I get a small whitehead or the occasional bump under the skin but nothing like I have dealt with in the past for YEARS. I did get some irritation around my eyelids so I was careful to make sure I avoided that area completely. It has also helped with redness and scars. For the price point I say it’s worth a try for anyone struggling with acne. Just start slow & stick it out, even if your skin gets worse at first! It will get worse before it gets better

I have cystic acne that is brought on by perimenopause with a vengeance. Hormones are a raging! I bought this because I need a healing cream. The first week, it brought out two pimples that were under the surface, but with daily use, they did not last long. It has stopped the breakouts, and working on the hyperpigmentation left by the acne. It has not been a month yet, and I’m optimistic. My skin is healing & the texture is soft. A little goes a long way, so use sparingly. Moisturize after application. It is retinol & best treatment with lesser harsh side effects. I will put up images in 3 months time. It’s good stuff.
