Kala KA-TEME Exotic Mahogany Tenor Ukulele (with EQ)

Impressive sound quality! I absolutely loved it from the moment I tuned the g string! The tone definitely struck a cord in me that left no doubt that this is the sound I've been looking for! A minor detail made me return my first only to order the same model for a replacement! The pick up didn't work. Not a big deal to me these things happen and could've been caused by anything! I still give this instrument a 5 Star +++ Rating!

Great uke! My first time playing, and I read about the different types and brands. Bought this because it was larger than a Concert uke and the message boards all said Kala was the best value and quality. I've learned several songs and the built-in tuner is really convenient! Sounds great!

Very nice looking uke but from the very first strum I didn’t care for the tone of this uke. It sounded tinny and lacked resonance for my ears.

One of the best ukuleles I have ever played for such a great price! The sound is beautiful, you will not regret this buy! The exotic mahogany is stunning, I get many compliments on it!

Love it. Doesn't have the same sound as another Kala I had for a but. The other was 200 without electronics so it was better in some ways. This has a nice tone to it that seems to sound perfect for a ukulele. It might sound a little better if there wasn't any electronics inside it.The electronics are great. Tunes perfectly and sounds pretty good on my amp. I am not sure how great the strings are but I might replace those and see if the tone improves at all

I love this uke! It's beautiful to look at and sounds even better! I am actually very impressed with the built in EQ and tuner. Very good quality. It's very affordable on almost any budget and it is so much fun to play!

This was the first musical instrument I have purchased and started seriously practicing on. I have had it for just over a month, and it's just now that I am getting comfortable with the instrument that it's rattling has started to really bug me. The battery pack in the tuner rattles. The battery pack rattle is particularly accentuated when playing the first fret on the C string. Also there is a different rattle (after removing the battery pack) when playing the open C string or the first fret on the E string. The further down the fret board you play and the further behind the sound board you finger pick the less rattling the instrument makes, but as a beginner most all the chords with open strings cause my uke to rattle.Otherwise it's pretty. It sounds good. The tuner works. I like that I can plug it directly into my digital audio converter and record to my computer without having to mic it. I could live without the cheapo EQ controls. I sort of wish it came with a bottom strap pin, and that the output jack was a little higher. Where the output jack is now, the guitar cable gets in the way where I rest the instrument on my leg when sitting.If it didn't rattle I would probably give it 4 stars, subtracting one star just because it isn't made of solid wood, but veneer instead. The rattling is almost bad enough for me to give it only 2 stars, but I'll give it a 3 and we can call it 2 and half.

I would recommend this instrument for everyone, nice look, good quality, plays well, stays in tune and it has really good quality for the prize range...

Well made, good intonation, no twisted or bent neck, nicely finished, the built in tuner, pickup and pre-amp work well. Plugged it into my guitar effects pedal board and niw have even great sounds out of this little gem.Previously I had bought a Uke made by another manufacturer and that Uke arrived with a twisted and bent neck so it does make sense to buy one with a bit more quality than those you will find at beginner level.
