It isnt their best OR their worst
Here's the problem I have with INXS, and it is 100% my problem and one that i feel bad that they have to carry, is that INXS - like Prince and the Revolution, was my absolute joy in the 80s - and early 90s.I am talking The Swing, Listen Like Thieves, Kicks - the songs on the Lost Boys Soundtrack, X - INXS (...and Prince) was the reson i often got detentions in school for being late to class after lunch as myself and a few others would sly on down to Sean Liddle's house and pretend to be the Farrris brothers, with added air guitar and drums. Late 80s i would save my paper round money and go to London looking for 12" imports - Ok, do you have it i liked these guys, a lot !Music tastes change and (just like Prince - again) I found their output (from after X) a bit average at best. I bought this album and put it in the 'stocking fillers' list - it wont be the goto album when Listen like Thieves and X is available, however I recently fell upon the Hutchence documentary Mystify and my love affair was rekindled. I felt i owed my former mates a 2nd chance and i revisited this album, and the truth is its a very good album, bit of rock, bit of soul, bit of gospel. I was impressed at the depth of sounds.... now is it a good INXS album, sadly i cant really go with that.As I say i feel for them as they cant possibly match the level of excitement and nostalgia a new vinyl brought to bunk off school with, nor the dizzy joy of seeing them at Wembley in 1990 , a great band - good music, not great music.

A fine finale album.
Long overdue vinyl reissue, waited ages for an LP copy, this being my 2nd LP, the 1st one had tiny fine squiggly scratches really annoying on a new record which obviously leads to crackle (no fault of the seller btw). InShame this became their final album.
