Gret little toy for music boxes, cards & gifts!
I received this JRGKJCP 16MB Sound Module quickly, exactly as advertseised, nicely boxed, with reuseable static resistant bags for all of the important parts. Nice.I chose this unit over others available for the rechargeable & replaceable batteries, the light activating switch & the separate plug-in speaker, (in case I wanted to mount it separately or substitute a bigger one.) Everything works as advertised & there is a small instruction folder in the box. Sound reproduction isn't bad at all for what it is, & the tiny volume control is a nice touch. Peel & stick on the back to install on any flat surface, even on the rim of the speaker.Reviews I read for other units had issues with the on-board software & the instructions, (if there were any!)Here's the procedure I used successfully. I hope this helps another buyer, even of another brand:1) Plug the board into a computer USB port (switched OFF) with the cheap little included cable, & let it charge just to be sure. (The red charging light went out in 3-4 minutes on mine.)2) Unplug, turn it ON & use the included press switch to test the factory music & singing.3) Turn it OFF, plug it in again, turn it ON, & a Windows computer should pick it up right away. (No Mac's in the house to test.)4) It shows as a new drive & there are only 3 files:5) REC_DIR has an MP3 recording in it made using the on-board microphone. Take note of the name. If it is 00001, and you wish to add another recording, you MUST use the same naming format, such as 00002. I just deleted it, but the naming convention is important. Most instructions don't even tell you that microphone recordings are stored there!6) CONFIG is where you chose how your button or switch activates the player. It will simply say "IO=1" or IO=2, up to IO=9 on mine. The included instruction sheet tells you what number will produce a single song play, play all songs once, random, or play a loop. Open the CONFIG file, change the number to suit, save the file and close. I am using the light switch on IO=3 which plays one song completely then stops, or stops when you cover the switch again, starting over the next time the switch is activated.7) The last item stored on mine was a single MP3 musical piece you can save, use or delete. Drag & drop works here, and you can rename just like a normal hard drive. I deleted the factory song and dragged my own in effortlessly from a music list. With 16MB storage, I'm barely using 2.Hope this helps somebody. I like this little player & would buy it again!

Does not work with Windows 11 or Android.
Does not work with Windows 11 or Android. When plugging into windows, it automatically opens windows explorer where the device should be but then closes it in a split second. This repeats itself. Very suspicious behavior. I thought maybe I got a bad unit and got a replacement - same issue. When plugging into Android, it does nothing.

Works just as advertised
Overall thoughts:Provided speaker is decent sound quality and volume, especially for voice files, however, I was able to solder JST connectors to a separate 3W 8Ohm speaker (both linked below), and so far have a louder, higher quality sound. So far it works great, at the cost of a shorter battery life. So that's an option if you aren't satisfied with the sound quality and want to assume the risk!https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B088NQBF3V/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=A1LMN0F953SDVL&th=1https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0826Y9G1X?psc=1&smid=A2QDC4SXGIBAA1&ref_=chk_typ_imgToDpLED light strip is bright. No fading, simply on and off pending audio playback.Push switch works great, a bit bigger than expected.Magnet switch is ideal for my application (custom digital music box project) and detects the provided magnet from about 3 mm away.I haven't tried the provided microphone feature to record files, but loading MP3 files was very easy. Storage capacity is the best of any one of these kinds of players I saw on Amazon.Other potentially helpful info:My PC (Windows 10) did not detect the player as a removable device, only charged it. I had to use another USB-C cable I had lying around, which worked immediately. The seller responded quickly and was helpful with questions. I asked about the connectors for anyone wondering:Speaker uses JST 1.25mm, the others are 1.0.Would purchase again for similar projects.

Good customer service
Easy to set up and operate. Lots of different “trigger” options for the sound to play. Stopped working after about two months, but customer service was easy to work with and replaced it.

Best out there
This 1651ZM sound module is the best I’ve found to date. I love the options (button, light, and magnetic play modes). The led is a sweet add on too. I will be buying more soon.

Avoid
No connectivity as expected. Believe the reviews. Returned immediately. Hubby is a software developer for over 50 years and couldn't get it to connect. What's the point of all the lights and sensors if you can't program it?

Exactly as Advertised
I was hesitant to purchase because there were only a few reviews. Figured it was only $20 so took the risk. It performs better than expected! Really a great value. So much so that after my project was completed, I ordered two more. The instructions are clear. Instructions need to be read thoroughly because there are some caveats and exception listed in different places.I wanted to try some different programming and reached out to the seller. Seller was VERY RESPONSIVE. My idea of different programming would not work, but that doesn’t detract from my he product. This device worked exactly as advertised. Nothing more, but nothing less either. But with confidence.
