I use it for coffee, and it works very well
I got this to sift out the fines from my ground coffee. For $10 its great value. The sieve body and the mesh are both steel, so it seems very durable. It is wide and deep enough that I am able to sift 10-12 cups worth of coffee in one go which is great, and much more efficient than the single cup "pot" type sifters. 40 mesh seems about right to me, removing the powder like fines and not much else. (Depending on how and what you are brewing the fines result in more bitter over-extracted flavors and can block up paper filters too. The fines on their own can still be used for brewing, but you need to use a method that keeps the extraction under control).

Good product. Smaller than expected
This product is great for what i needed it for(sifting blast media) but was a little smaller than i expected. Also i didn’t read the size prior so my fault.

Works and mesh size appears accurate
Bought two screens one 40 & the other 60 mesh for sifting freshly ground whole wheat flour to make pastry flour. Both worked great. These appeared hard to find even on amazon and the price was the best I could find. I reserve these for grain flour sifting only and wipe clean with a dry brush/cloth. I would not suggest dish washing. The less water on the the better and there are nooks and crannies it might be very hard to dry out under the pressed metal seal that holds screen in.

Efficient, but small.
Sifts quickly and easy to clean up as well. I haven't noticed any rusting or other defects. The only thing I would change is having a larger diameter.

Not quite what I expected.
I haven't quite used this yet but I have to let folks know that what I got was a 5 1/2" sieve with approximately 26 lines of mesh per inch. It's not very sturdy but it was cheap.

Well-made, sturdy
I'm enjoying my flour sieve very much. I use it to sift out the bran from my home-milled grain. I've also used it to strain solids from liquid soups and custards. Works great and seems very well made and sturdy. I now make my own all-purpose flour from my milled grains.

Beware, it is not 6" as advertised.
It is close to but not 6", I was a little disappointed in this purchase, it seems to be well made, but for this.

Over all Happy with purchase
It is 6inch as described so kind of small but that what I was looking for. What I did not like is the sturdiness. It feels I need to handle it delicately. It could have been little more strong. But other wise I am happy. Does a great job.
