The box holds sooooooo many!
The first thing you'll likely notice is the smell. Whew .... the fishy low tide odor is a bit overwhelming. Definitely want to store these in a tightly sealed container. Second thing to get my attention was just how many a 5 pound box holds. Been feeding the birds for like a week & I've hardly made a dent.Put them out dry at first & had no takers. Having bought meal worms in the past, I knew to offer them after soaking. That seems to have done the trick. The Eastern Bluebirds, Tufted Titmouse & even the Robins have come in for a snack. Worth it to see the birds so I can deal with the smell.NOTE: Box does have (in small print) a shellfish allergy warning on it.

Want more eggs, this is what you need for your feather friends
Cooler months hens don't lay eggs, well here's a game changer for everyone that has chickens. I sprinkle these dried larva's out to my hens two weeks before cooler months come in and feed just a handful to them in the afternoons right before they roost. If you have more than 6 hens, I would suggest 2 to 3 handfuls, because they love them. Mine go crazy when they see me coming with the jar in my hand, they know it's treat time. I give my ladies this larva every other day and in the mornings when I feed them their scratch and pellets, I always have between 8 to 12 eggs per day, in the cooler months. And on another note, I bought a 2 lb bag from tractor supply for $27 and Amazon has this on sale for $37 and it's a 5 lb bag!
