If you have an air tool that needs to run at a lower speed, or something that needs less air flow than the rest of your air lines, these needle valves can be handy.They are needle valves and not diaphragm style regulators, this means that when the tools trigger is released the air pressure will build up slowly against the trigger valve, this will result in a small higher pressure blast of air when you next operate the trigger, then the flow will reduce to what you set it to with this needle valve.in most situations this is not a problem at all, and can actually be a good thing:I have a remote compressor auto drain valve that vibrates horribly when fed with full tank pressure, one of these needle valves works perfectly here as the short higher pressure burst of air will clear any rust that may partially block the outlet, then it will reduce flow to where i set it, just below the pressure that causes my drain valves' solenoid to vibrate.The threaded fitting has a small layer of PTFE on it, and in the pack is a small packet of PTFE tape, and the inlet is a push fitting that takes the pretty standard nylon type semi rigid air pipe that is used throughout industry and home air compressor pipe runs.I could detect no leakage from anywhere on this valve, it works just as intended.
