Review: Not for my hair type - I used Pete & Pedro Purple Toning Shampoo for the first time and was hoping to get tresses that were soft and easy to control, which is sometimes hard to do with color-treated, naturally curly hair. The shampoo is extremely thick and droplets were in danger of staining my bathtub, had I not wiped them up immediately. It also did not lather as easily as other colored treated hair shampoos I have used. After shampooing, my hair did not feel any better than it has been with other products. I was surprised that styling was also not as easy as with other products. Unfortunately, this did not work well for my hair type and I was disappointed. Review: Less brass, more ash - I only wish this bottle was bigger with a pump. I live by purple shampoo to tone the brass out of my hair when I bleach it initially. To keep it up, the purple shampoo should be used at least once a week. The color is actually very purple and while it looks like color dye, it does not dye your hair purple or anything like that. I've used other purple shampoo that had a more blueish color. In the color wheel, purple/blue cancels out orange. Because it's a "shampoo" I lather it on my scalp and also my strands. It helps to keep my hair platinum. The purple color splashes everywhere in the bath/shower so make sure it gets rinsed out before you're done. There is a bit of a color stain that easily washes away but I don't know what would happen if you leave it on the bath for a long time so best to clean it up after.

Works great. Not sure about the value, however.
This review is for: Pete & Pedro PURPLE SHAMPOO - Platinum Violet Toning Pigmented Shampoo for Color Treated Hair | Tones Brassiness For Natural Blondes, Highlights, Gray, Dry Hair | Shark Tank Featured, 8.5 oz. This works quite well. I would recommend leaving it on your hair while you shave your legs or do something else for a few minutes. It really does help reduce the brassiness the longer you leave it in. The only reason for four stars is the value. It is a small bottle and I have long hair. For the price, I just don't feel like this is worth getting. I'd rather get a less expensive violet shampoo.

Pete & Pedro PURPLE SHAMPOO
This shampoo is typical of what I've come to expect from purple toning shampoos. The formula is on the thin side and it requires more product to get a satisfying lather like I achieve with my normal daily shampoo. If you don't move quickly, this will stain your hands but it's easily washed away after a few washings or scrubbing with your wash cloth. I usually wash my hair first, leaving the shampoo sit on my hair for the duration of my shower. In the course of washing my body, the excess dye is removed from my hands. I don't have any issues with this staining my shower as long as I am careful to rinse everything when I'm done shampooing.

Scented purple pigmented shampoo
Purple shampoo is a must for keeping my highlights looking more white than brassy/yellow. This shampoo has a rich, deep purple shade and a nice scent that masks the typical scent of pigmented shampoo. I tried this shampoo tonight on my hair. I always do a first shampoo with my usual shampoo to thoroughly clean my hair. This isn't necessary because the purple shampoo will clean hair. It's just my routine that I prefer but if you want to only use the purple shampoo, it will clean your hair. After working the purple shampoo through my hair, I leave it on for about 5 minutes and then rinse. I don't have any purple conditioner and just use my regular conditioner. My hair came out great with my highlights re-energized without any brassiness.

Great Toning Shampoo
If you need a purple shampoo to minimize brassy tones, this one is great! My teen has bleach-blonde hair (color-treated) and this shampoo worked amazingly. Not only did it help with the color, but it also did a great job cleaning. The price is really reasonable for the quality, and it smells nice too. Highly recommend!

Effective Relief for Stubborn Dandruff
I've struggled with dandruff for a while now, and after trying numerous products, I stumbled upon this one. Let me tell you, it's a game-changer. The control it offers over dandruff is impressive. Unlike some other shampoos, this one actually works. It has a pleasant scent and feels refreshing on the scalp, thanks to a hint of mint. Plus, it doesn't leave that medicinal smell lingering around like some other coal tar shampoos do. While the bottle could be a bit bigger for the price, the results make it worth it. If you're dealing with stubborn dandruff, give this one a shot. It might just be the solution you've been searching for.

This stuff is very purple - cleans hair well
I'm not sure if it has any effect on dyed hair, since my hair is not dyed, however this shampoo works as regular shampoo, but is very, very purple. It seems to be gently enough on my hair compared to my regular shampoo. The bottle claims not to have parabens, sulfates, etc which seems to be the way the haircare industry is moving, but at least means they're looking to put out a higher quality product. The bottle is small and a tad bit pricey, but it is a niche product, not for daily use. I'm giving this product 5/5 as its exactly as described, as far as I can tell. If my hair or my gf (who has small highlights) uses it, and things change, I will update this review.
