Shadow of the Ninja - Reborn - Nintendo Switch
An Epic Ninja Adventure Reborn for the Modern Era!Shadow of the Ninja - Reborn on the Nintendo Switch is everything you could hope for in a revival of a classic action-platformer, and then some. As someone who fondly remembers the original, I was thrilled to see how faithfully this reboot retains the core elements of what made the game a cult favorite, while infusing it with the right amount of modern upgrades to make it feel fresh and exciting.First off, the gameplay is absolutely fantastic. The controls are tight and responsive, which is crucial for a ninja game that demands precision in every move. Whether you're performing quick slashes, executing mid-air jumps, or dodging incoming attacks, everything feels fluid and satisfying. The game’s difficulty is well-balanced—challenging enough to keep you on your toes, but never unfair. It rewards skill and strategy, especially during the brilliantly designed boss battles that require more than just button-mashing to succeed.Visually, the game is stunning. While it keeps the essence of its 8-bit predecessor, the updated graphics breathe new life into every scene. The environments are richly detailed, blending retro charm with modern artistic flair, and the animations feel smooth without losing the gritty, intense vibe that the original game had. Each level is beautifully crafted, with a variety of landscapes and enemy designs that ensure the gameplay remains exciting and dynamic throughout. The soundtrack deserves special mention as well. It's a masterful blend of nostalgic tunes and new tracks that perfectly complement the game's action-packed sequences. The music intensifies as you get deeper into each level, drawing you further into the world and making each fight feel that much more epic.Multiplayer mode is another standout feature. Playing through the game with a friend adds a whole new layer of strategy and fun. The cooperative mechanics feel natural, and it's great to be able to work together to overcome the game’s toughest challenges. It’s the kind of feature that extends the game’s replayability far beyond its single-player mode.In short, Shadow of the Ninja - Reborn is a triumph. It’s clear that the developers poured a lot of love and respect into this reboot, carefully walking the line between honoring the original and updating it for today's audiences. Whether you're a long-time fan of the original game or a newcomer to the series, this title is a must-have for your Switch library. It's a thrilling, high-energy ninja adventure that will keep you hooked from start to finish. Highly recommended!

Shadow Of The Ninja Reborn
This is a beautiful new take on the classic NES game! Not a remake! Just a fresh, new story within the same world!

Incredible game!
Probably Tengo Projects best work. Excellent game! Tight, responsive controls. It's tough as balls, but it's there, if you work for it. Oh, the graphics. THE GRAPHICS ARE GLORIOUS! Lol. Some if the best spritework I've ever seen... seriously. If you like old school--tough, but fair--style gameplay, you absolutely should try this.

Great recreation of a great classic NES game
The original Shadow of the Ninja was one of those games I didn’t discover until emulation and fell in love with it. Remembering how Natsume developed Ninja Gaiden Shadow for the Game Boy, I always wondered why there weren’t more games. Hard but not impossible difficulty with plenty of replayability with the pocket change system and finding all the items. If you enjoyed the original, love retro games, or just want a solid, beautiful hand-drawn experience, and something to scratch that “8-bit ninja game” itch, I highly recommend Shadow of the Ninja: Reborn along with the other 2 remakes Tengo Project has done, Pocku and Rocky: Reshrined, and Ninja Saviors: Return of the Warriors. I hope all 3 games get original sequels!

a 2D classic!
i just got this game today in mail and i played it all day and i enjoyed it. playing 2D action games like this brings back memories of those olden days. i don't care what people say, but modern 3d games just don't have that magic like 2d games of years past have. there is a reason why even young gamers are going retro bc they discovered that 2D magic!! now i played original back in the day and this remake improved upon it in many ways. it got a graphical upgrade obviously and gameplay was improved. if you liked the original you'll like this remake. i also like younger gamers to give this game a try as well. if you want to relive the 90s and see what it was like to game during that era, then play this game!!! no load times, no prolonged story to listen to, you just jump straight into the gameplay after you press start, old-school style! just how i like it!! it's the perfect game for the modern era for those who just want something quick to jump into and play. it's a game that respect your time. not many people got time to play a 100hr modern RPG. Shadow of the Ninja will entertain you in just a short amount of time.

Fun but hard
This is a fun game but challenging! I got it because I used to play the original as a kid. I love the artwork of the game itself, but the cover art looks like it was drawn by a 12-year old. I wish it had stayed truer to the totally rad original NES artwork.

NES Hard
A great remake that surpasses the original. Great music and beautiful pixel art. Keep in my mind the enemy layout is definitely old school hard. You will die a lot. Use all your tools at your disposal. You can brute force you way through the game. Unlimited continues and each level is broken into 3 sections that act as checkpoints. If you die too many times the game will start adding power ups to help you get through. The final boss is 2 phases but you can cheese the first one if you know where to stand so that should help. Loved it despite the urge to throw a controller at the wall.
