AmmoGarand M1 Garand Trigger Guard Removal Tool

Where was this device when I was in charge of an JROTC Armory with plenty of M1 Garand rifles? It is so easy to hook the rear loop of the trigger guard and rotate to release the trigger guard assembly. It sure beats tearing up your fingers to begin disassembly of the rifle.

Saw one of these at the CMP maintenance class so I looked on Amazon and was surprised to find this one.

These are very well-made, and if you’ve ever tried to pull the receiver group out of a garand you can appreciate the ease in which is removed. No more “ garand thumb “.

I recently fulfilled one of my dreams and purchased my first M1 Garand from the CMP. A beautiful rifle that requires some specific skill sets to use and maintain. Cleaning my rifle means disassembly, and there's the problem. Fortunately, I found the perfect tool for that task. The trigger guard on my rifle resists all efforts to be moved by hand. I can only assume that it never really was issued, it just sat in the armory racks and collected dust. I had to find a solution because I dreaded sticking a screwdriver through the eye of the guard! It's hard to believe but tell Google something and before you know it, a solution will appear! This tool is perfect for my needs(duh, it was designed that way!) and I'm most pleased with it's ease of use on the stubborn trigger guard. This guy goes in the range box as an invaluable tool for my shooting and cleaning!
